Homemade Lemon Ice Cream
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs beaten (beat them in a separate dish and then pour in the mixture)
1 tsp vanilla
1 quart whipping cream
2 quarts half and half
1 1/2–1oz bottles lemon extract
Homemade ice cream maker (electric type, its so much easier)
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Fill to fill line in the ice cream maker, if doesn’t quite reach the fill line, use regular whole milk to make up difference. If there is no fill line, fill to about 4-6 inches below top of the canister. (Don’t fill past that point because the ice cream will expand and make a big mess).
- 3½ cups sugar
- 3 eggs beaten (beat them in a separate dish and then pour in the mixture)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 quart whipping cream
- 2 quarts half and half
- 1½--1oz bottles lemon extract
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Fill to fill line in an electric ice cream maker, if doesn't quite reach the fill line, use regular whole milk to make up difference.
- If there is no fill line, fill to about 4-6 inches below top of the canister. (Don't fill past that point because the ice cream will expand and make a big mess).

Sounds so good – I love lemon in any form so know I would love this – wish I had an ice cream maker! I think I need to go make some lemon bars.

I'd never heard of lemon ice cream either until an ice cream company that is local started selling lemon custard ice cream. Delish! Your recipe looks like theirs, so I bet it's just as good. Thanks for sharing!

I recently made pistachio ice cream with my Cuisinart electric ice cream maker. My other favorite flavor is pumpkin. I think one day I'll give lemon a try. Thanks for sharing.
