Hi, this is Andrea from Cooking with a Wallflower, and I’m back to share with you a brand new homemade bread recipe for the new year.
I hope that 2020 is off to a good start for you!
This year, I’ve resolved to try to eat more breakfast, to jump start my mornings. Most mornings, I skip breakfast, mostly because there’s not enough time or it’s simply not convenient. So I’m hoping that with recipes like this chai spiced apple bread, you and I will be able to enjoy a quick delicious breakfast even when we’re busy in the mornings.
This apple bread is filled with swirls of chai spiced sugar. Each bite is filled with the taste of sweet and tart apples and warm flavors of chai spices. This bread is moist and so delicious. It’s perfect for starting the day.
Preheat the oven to 350F. Lightly grease a 9×5 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray or vegetable oil. Set aside for now.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all purpose flour with baking soda.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together egg with brown sugar and granulated sugar. Whisk in whole milk, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil until combined.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and mix until just combined.
Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan.
In a small bowl, whisk together cinnamon, brown sugar, nutmeg, all spice, ginger, and cardamom. Add diced apple to the bowl and mix until the apples are coated in the chai spiced sugar. Add the chai spiced apples to the loaf pan. Then pour the rest of the batter into the pan.
Use a knife to swirl the batter so that chai spiced apples are mixed into the batter.
Bake the chai spiced apple bread in the oven for about 45-50 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, it is ready. Allow the bread to cool for several minutes before slicing.
Serve the chai spiced apple bread warm or cool.
Enjoy!
