Office & Craft Room Reveal with lots of Craft Room Organization Ideas!

I am beyond excited to reveal my craft room/office to you today! In order for you to understand my excitement you must first understand how much I hated this room when I started out. It was sooo boring, drab and a catch-all room for Malea’s toys and our random stuff. Let me refresh your memory.

Wasn’t it terrible!? Now you probably have an understanding of my hatred for this room. Well, let me show you what it looks like now. Are you ready? Using these chipcards that I got from Sherwin-Williams’ Chip It! tool, this is how it turned out!

I honestly can’t even believe it’s the same room. I love how refreshing, bright, colorful and inspiring this room is now! Now I actually want to spend time here, instead of just wanting to close the door and forget about it.

Are you ready for more pictures? I sure hope so because there are a lot of them and I’m dying to show them to you! Here are some of the great accessories and storage solutions in my new space.

I have three favorite things in my new office. Here they are:

#1: My writing space. This desk was one of the original items in this space and I love how it looks so inviting now.

Don’t you just want to sit in that chair and gaze out at the beautiful sunlight? This picture makes me just want to be there, which I honestly thought could never happen in this room!

#2: My new desk, built by my awesome husband. It’s going to be a great workspace for me!

Isn’t she a beauty? I also love these great baskets that I found on Amazon. They are perfect for storing my sewing projects, etc.

I’m also very proud of my staining job. I’m so glad I took the staining class at Haven because I learned so much! Just look at my desk shine. Ahhh, I love it!

#3: My DIY message board.

I got the idea for this on Pinterest (of course) but was thrilled with how well it turned out. I still can’t believe I built it!

Those are my three most favorite things but there are still so many other things I love about the room! I love that I have tons of storage! I have my vinyl hanging on the wall using this fabulous tip from Kim at A Real-Life Housewife. I also have my ribbon, beads and scissors stored in these inexpensive racks from IKEA. And of course the awesome baskets from Amazon.

I also love this crate that I painted and use for storing my fabric scraps.

This shelf was a huge score at IKEA. I found it in the “As-Is” room for a fraction of the regular cost! I now have tons of storage and even a couple empty boxes! It also makes a great place for storing my books and my NeatDesk.

A few more simple storage solutions from IKEA: inexpensive glass canisters, shelves and spice jars for my buttons.

This was another big score from IKEA! This multiple-drawer organizer was missing two drawers, so I got it for a fraction of the normal price. When I got it home I just rearranged the drawers so that I could store taller things on the top shelf. I actually like my version better than the original! I used my Silhouette to label the drawers for easy access to my supplies.

I also added a few hooks on the wall for hanging my bags because I hate it when I have bags lying all over the ground. I found the hooks at World Market for only $1.99 each!

The hooks are hung right under the painting that was the inspiration for this whole project. I think it looks beautiful against the Sherwin-Williams Opera Glass-colored wall.

The next challenge I had was hiding the huge black futon we have for guests. It was a real eyesore and needed to be covered. All I did to hide it was cover it with the quilt I have for it and then covered that with cute pillows from TJ Maxx and World Market.

I think it looks inviting now that it’s not a huge black blob in the room!

I had these cute frames left over from when I made over our guest bathroom, but I couldn’t figure out what to put in them. Monique (my awesome assistant) had the fun idea of putting all the “faces” of Ask Anna in them. Here’s the question, how many of you remember this one? Were you a follower way back then?

And of course my current branding image, which I love.

That’s it for the tour! Now it’s your turn to get “chipping!” Have you checked out the Chip It! video and added the Chip It! button to your Bookmarks? If you haven’t, now is the time! There’s a whole world of colors out there just waiting to be chipped by you!

Drag and drop this Chip It! button to your toolbar and get chipping!

Chip It!

{Giveaway is OVER} Tell me about a room in your home that you’d like to make over using the Chip It! Tool and be entered to win a $1,000 Visa gift card and $200 Sherwin-Williams gift card.

And if you’re looking for me, you can find me sitting here dreaming about all the other rooms I can make over in my house using the Chip It! tool (just don’t tell my husband!).

Side note: Here are the names of the fonts from the Silhouette I used to label the multiple drawer organizer. In case you were wondering 😉

It offers those of us without a great deal to spend a wide variety of pieces to make over on a budget. Thanks so much for the entertaining ideas and the chance to win.

I love your storage ideas (as usual) and the colors are so beautiful and peaceful. I think I’d want to curl up on that couch and take a nap instead of get any work done! Again, great job on the room! I posted my message to FB. I would love to win this drawing….We downsized our house 2 years ago and our cozy little house could use some your great design ideas. Its pretty boring and unorganized. No storrage space or extra hiding spaces. To be honest~but your site brings the creative. I would love to change my daughters more to be more fun and to organize her artwork, school work and toys! She is going in to second grade and has lots of art projects. I also wished we had IKEA in KC.

I love the transformation!! I actually just completed a desk with the very same color and stain this weekend 🙂 I would love to be entered to win the contest and I hope that I have submitted this correctly.

The space that I would like to redo is my garage. Yes that might sound silly but I have several reasons. I am a single mother and up to now I have been renting a small 2 bedroom apartment and trying to do furniture makeovers and crafting in my small kitchen. I was lucky enough to find a 3 bedroom house with a full 2 car garage/workshop that I will be moving into in September. The space will be used as my craft room and right now it is just one big empty garage with unpainted drywall. The garage has a huge rec room above it that will be used as the kids play room so Mommy can work on projects while the kids play upstairs. The small projects that I have upcycling and creating have been a blessing as far as extra income as well as great therapy for me and if I could have a work space that inspires me as much as yours does you it would just be amazing. Thank you so much for your consideration and I hope you enjoy your new space.

I live in a small apartment of about 700 square feet and it was built in 1963. It needs alot of updating and space saving ideas to make it the “Littles Apartment in Nalcrest Florida”. See not being on the water isn’t important to me just the pleasant inside of my domain and beautiful God created scenery outside would be so fulfilling to me soul. I know you could create this and make others realize its not the high end items of life that are needed, just how you fix up what you have and new ways to put them to use.

If I could change any room in my home, it would definitely be my craft room. WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I PAINTED THE WALLS RED????? I have always like the color red, so I went with it. All of the furniture is white, and the carpet is a dark khaki, but still. Why didn’t anyone try to talk me out of it?

When our first grand daughter started talking she called that room the “crap” room because she couldn’t say “craft”. Sadly, it stuck. 🙁 Maybe she knew something I didn’t at the time.

I hate going into that room. Even though I have lots of work space in there, I bring what ever I am working on out into the living room or kitchen. That is ok if I finish the projects before it is time to eat or relax for the evening.

I have an empty room in my house that I would love to use for sewing, crafting, and my own little office space. It is a clean slate, nuetral beige walls & hardwood flooring & an (almost) empty closet, but I would love to see it designed in the colors of the Peacock (turquoise, green, blue, brown, grey, black) with plenty of storage and visual interest on the walls. It would be neat to have some pretty plants or a mural of a tree on one wall…..kind of exotic & fresh & modern all at the same time. Pick me!! Pick me!! 🙂
