Craft Room Inspiration with Chip It!

Remember my craft room project?† Well, I’ve had it on hold for the last couple of months {working on other projects}, but now I’m ready to resume the makeover.† Today I’m showing you all of the before pictures, and I’m going to show you a super-awesome tool, from Sherwin-Williams, that is going to get me back on track and ready to paint!††

When we moved into this house Malea was only 18 months old, so this room became the Play/Dump-Everything-We-Don’t-Know-What-To-Do-With Room. There is so much randomness and lack of order in this room that it really stresses me out!

Finally, I decided enough is enough and I’m claiming this room for my own!† These are the two pieces I’ve already purchased for the room. {You may remember them from my previous post.}

I think this painting and the desk (below) are beautiful, and the colors inspire me to create.

†But that’s as far as I’ve gotten.† Then I came across this amazing new tool from Sherwin-Williams called Chip It!
You can get the Chip It! button just like the Pin It button for Pinterest. First you drag the Chip It! button to your toolbar:

Chip It!

Whenever you spot a photo you like online, just click the Chip It! button and then click the photo itself. And voila you get the picture’s paint colors.

When I discovered Chip It!, I was addicted!† I love color and fresh paint in a room, and now that I have added the super-duper handy Chip It! tool to my internet toolbar I’m chipping everything online! With Chip It! you can use any picture online and turn it into “a perfect palette for inspiration.”† I’m in love!

The first image I “chipped” for color inspiration was the original picture of my painting.
Original Source

†I can even click on the “more colors” button to get more inspiration colors!

Now it’s your turn!† Click here to watch the Chip It! video and then add the Chip It! button to your bookmark bar!† Once you see how easy it is, you are going to have so much fun “chipping” images all over the internet {especially Pinterest}!

Here are a couple other pictures I think are great color inspirations for my office.† Try chipping them and see what you think!

Chip one of the images above and guess which one I’m going to use for a chance to win a†$1,000 Visa gift card and a $200 Sherwin-Williams gift card.† You’ll have to wait to see which one I picked! Rules: No duplicate comments. You may receive (2) total entries by selecting from the following entry methods: a) Leave a comment in response to the sweepstakes prompt on this postb) Tweet about this promotion and leave the URL to that tweet in a comment on this postc) Blog about this promotion and leave the URL to that post in a comment on this postd) For those with no Twitter or blog, read the official rules to learn about an alternate form of entry. Entries from all participating blogs will be pooled for winner selection; only two entries per household. This giveaway is open to US Residents age 18 or older. Winners will be selected via random draw, and will be notified by e-mail. You have 72 hours to get back to me, otherwise aA new winner will be selected. The Official Rules are available here. This sweepstakes runs from 6/18/2012 to 7/6/2012. Be sure to visit the Sherwin-Williams brand page on BlogHer.com, where you can read other bloggers’ posts!

That’s a good guess! Thank you Amanda. 🙂

I say #1 because that teal table would look the best against one of those colors! 🙂 Although, #3 does seem to be more of what you would regularly lean towards from what I can tell.

    • Anna says

      June 20, 2012 at 8:25 pm

Well you’re kind of right with both. 🙂

I would think the third, but who knows what other inspirational pictures and colors you might find between now & then? The desk is AMAZING!!!

    • Anna says

      June 22, 2012 at 6:37 am

I know, that’s what I thought. I think the two of them together are so fun but very dangerous for the budget. 🙂
