A mixed green salad tossed with fresh strawberries and heirloom tomatoes drizzled with poppy seed dressing. This strawberry heirloom tomato salad is delicious and simple to make, perfect for a summer meal.
Hi! This is Andrea from Cooking with a Wallflower, and I’m back this month to share with you this simple strawberry heirloom tomato salad.
Hopefully you had a wonderful fourth of July weekend! The beginning of July always makes me feel like summer is officially in full swing. And with summer finally here, I’m so ready for a vacation, but at the moment, I don’t really have anything planned. Are you traveling anywhere this summer? Or do you prefer to travel when less people are on the road?
With the summer heat beating down on us, I know I really want to avoid the kitchen as much as possible. I don’t want to turn on the stove, or the oven, because then it gets way too hot. I want my meals to be refreshing and light. And of course, I want to use all those fresh produce available to us during these warm months. Do you feel the same way?
So today, I wanted to share with you a recipe that requires no cooking whatsoever using fresh ingredients you can find at the farmer’s market, or if you’re lucky, which I’m not, your own backyard.
This strawberry heirloom tomato salad is super easy to make and can be prepared in about 5 minutes.
But while it’s super simple, the flavors in this salad is simply incredible. The sweetness from the strawberries and the cherries, the freshness of the heirloom tomatoes, the crispness of the mixed greens, the crunch from the walnuts, and the fragrance of the basil. You’ll quickly become addicted to this salad.
Toss together mixed greens, chopped strawberries, sliced heirloom tomatoes, chopped walnuts, torn basil leaves, and quartered cherries. Then drizzle poppy seed dressing on top.
Hope you’ll love this salad as much as I do!
See you next month!
