This post is sponsored by Huggies wipes but all opinions are my own and all the messes really were cleaned up with Huggies wipes. 🙂
In honor of Waffle Day, coming up on March 25th, I thought it would be fun for my daughter and I to get in the kitchen and mix up some delicious Belgian waffles. And since we both love having people over, I thought it would be fun to invite some of her neighborhood friends over to enjoy them with us because everyone loves waffles, what’s not to love with all those little squares filled with melted butter and syrup! I know we all like them a little differently though, so I decided a waffle bar was in order.
First Malea and I stared by mixing up the waffle batter and getting it ready for everyone. Cooking and baking with her can be quite messy, but she’s always asking me if she can cook with me, so it’s hard to turn that down.
After the batter was prepared we set it aside to prepare all of our toppings. Fresh berries, sprinkles, chocolate chips, whipped cream, and of course a little sampling along the way. 🙂
Once the toppings were ready, we baked the waffles and then set them on a cake platter so our guests could grab one and top it with as many toppings as they liked.
The girls had a blast topping their waffles and some even went a little crazy because they wanted to sample all of the toppings!
Of course the best/worst part of a waffle bar are sprinkles all over the counter, the ooey gooey whipped cream and the sticky, messy syrup but I wasn’t worried about it because I knew my Huggies wipes would clean it right up.
We had so much fun and the waffles were a huge hit! My personal favorite was the one I made, Belgium waffle topped with maple syrup, fresh blackberries and whipped cream, mmmm, delish!
Here’s what you need to create your own waffle bar –
