This 3-ingredient guacamole recipe is so easy and full of flavor. Your guests are guaranteed to love it and ask for the recipe, which has happened to me multiple times!
I learned this super simple recipe years ago and I get compliments on it every time I make it for my friends and family. I don’t share a lot of recipes on here but when I do it’s because it’s one of my favorites and I want you to be able to enjoy it too. 🙂 So I thought it was time I shared my favorite guacamole recipe with you, it is so easy to make and by far my favorite guacamole!
Ingredients
- 1 avocado
- 1/2 of a lime
- Garlic salt (I use Lawry’s because it’s the BEST)
Directions
- Cut the avocado in half, remove the seed (but save it) and spoon it into a bowl. Mash it with a fork.
- Roll the lime on the counter to release the juices. Cut it in 1/2 then squeeze it into the mashed up avocado. I use a lime squeezer to make it easier, and to make sure I get as much of the juice as possible.
- Sprinkle garlic salt into the avocado lime mixture. I’ll be honest, I never measure how much I put in but I’d say start with a 1/2 teaspoon and continue adding to taste.
- Mix all the ingredients together with a fork until it’s the texture you want. I like mine a little chunky but I know some like it really smooth and creamy.
I know it doesn’t sound like much but I promise you this 3-ingredient guacamole is so good! The sweetness of the lime juice combined with the saltiness from the garlic salt is such a satisfying combination. Sometimes, if I have other things on hand, or I’m in the mood for mixing it up I’ll add other ingredients but it doesn’t happen very often. Here are some other ideas of things to add – cilantro, salsa, jalapenos or sour cream.
And do you know the secret for keeping guacamole green? Unless you’re going to devour it right away, place the avocado seed back in to the guacamole, cover it and it will keep green up to a couple days! I don’t remember who taught me this trick but it was an “ah-ha” moment for me!
This is my favorite guacamole recipe and even my 1/2 Mexican daughter and Mexican friends love it, which I think is a pretty good compliment! If you’ve never tried it this way you’ve got to try it. I’d also love to hear what your favorite recipe is and what your favorite thing is to eat with a fresh batch of guacamole?
Enjoy!

This is how I make mine, except sometimes I’ll add onion and/or tomato. Super yummy! I could this as a meal with chips and I have LOL!
