How to Paint a House Quickly and Easily

Last month when we were finishing up the outdoor kitchen I decided that I wanted to change the color of the stucco and get rid of the 80’s tan color. The granite we picked has a lot of gray tones so I thought updating the house to a light gray color would look really nice.

I’ve never painted the exterior of a house but I know HomeRight has lots of great paint sprayers so I emailed them to see if they had one that would be good for my latest project. Luckily they do, it’s called the Power-Flo Pro 2800.

I was a little intimidated by it’s size but once I started spraying with it, I couldn’t believe how fast and easy it made my big job! All you do is drop the hoses in the paint bucket and start spraying, it’s awesome and super easy! No more tedious rolling to paint the outside of your house!

This big section was sprayed in about 30 seconds. You can adjust the spray gun to put out as much or as little paint as you want, depending on what type of surface you’re spraying. Since I was spraying stucco, and it has lots of texture, I had the sprayer set on a higher spray setting.

It was incredible how quickly and easily I was able to spray the back of our house, I wanted to keep spraying until the whole house was done! I painted this whole section (2 coats) in less than 30 minutes! Unfortunately it’s WAY too hot to paint the whole house right now (100+ degrees) but we are planning on finishing it this fall.

For now though I get to enjoy the beautiful gray color on the back side of our house, around the outdoor kitchen. The color is a HUGE improvement and it updates the house about 20 years. It’s also the perfect color to go with all the finishes we chose for the kitchen.

We relocated from MN to FL last fall and we also have a stucco house that is going to need to be repainted in the near future. I’d love this to do our house. We rented a power sprayer back in MN to paint our rental property and it was amazing. We did the whole house in a few hours.

Gorgeous pictures! My husband has been considering a sprayer since his goal is to paint our entire house this summer. I hadn’t realized just how fast a sprayer could work!

I need to paint the entire interior of my home – walls, baseboards, windowsills and ceilings. Wow that is a lot of painting.

We moved into our house 8 years ago. The house was built in 1983 and the previous owners had not done any updates. It was our own “fixer upper”. I painted it shortly after we moved in with rollers and the only time I could do it was when our 1 year old was down for his nap. It took me forever!!! We are in the process of trying to sell our home now and need to repaint the exterior again. I would really like to try it with a sprayer this time now that we have 3 kids and less time!

This will make re-painting a breeze! When we bought out home we rolled the stucco – what a pain!

I have 8 big columns, 4 each on 2 porches, one above the other, holding up the ceilings, plus 2 large garage doors that need painting now. I wonder if this machine would work for these kinds of jobs?

We will be redoing my bathroom this month…hubby did his last year. No big stuff…floor and paint. Just a bit at a time. We do, however, need to paint the exterior of our home. If not this year then it will have to be next year. This would sure make it easier!

We purchased a project house about 7 years ago. Before we purchased it, I LOVED to paint! Now that I have painted almost every inch of the interior of the house, I certainly am not looking forward to tackling the exterior. Truthfully the interior walls could probably use a new coat of paint too, but I really can’t seem to find the motivation. Never thought of using a sprayer. This is why I follow you Anna!

I would love to paint the ceiling in our basement so it’s not so noticeable. I also plan to paint another portion of the basement floor, and the patio floor. We rented a sprayer to paint our house in 2005 after painting one end of the house with a brush. It went SOOOO much faster and the finish was much better. The only thing I didn’t love was cleaning the paint gun afterward, but it was totally worth the effort for the time/energy savings overall.

We never finished painting our house from when we started it 3-4 years ago, so I definetly need to re-do it. Plus, my parents porch next door will need to be repainted once we replace some boards.

I am in the middle of a BIG painting project. I’m painting the entire inside of my home and the entire inside and outside of my mother’s home to prepare to sell and it’s taking me forever…. The siding on my mothers house is tongue and groove and either needs to be sprayed or brushed into the grooves which is tedious!

I have memories of my mom painting (rolling) our house when I was little…it took her over a week and was a painful process as I remember her she never wanted to paint again after that, I can just imagine how much quicker this would have been. My husband and I have been talking about whether we should hire someone or paint the outside of our house as it needs to be done, this looks like it would be easy, faster and fun to do over a weekend. Was it easy to cleanup? Love your outdoor kitchen – it’s gorgeous.

I live in a great area but recently we have had a few undesirables that think it is funny to graffiti our walls and this large paint sprayer would sure help with painting over all the graffiti. I also am tired of my builders beige paint in my home and I have got quotes for 2000 to 2500 dollars to paint three rooms in my home…UGH!!! Not in the budget 🙂

We need to finish painting the rest of our house ourselves. We are not having such great luck with the contractor we hired. The work his workers have done has been terrible, no attention to detail, and he goes weeks without contacting us. If we had a machine like this the work would be a breeze. Hope we win, keeping my fingers crossed.
