Last week we were invited to a friend’s house for dinner. I had a really cute serving dish that I wanted to take them as a hostess gift, but you can’t take a cute dish to someone’s house without filling it with something delicious first! I had found this recipe on Pinterest for homemade Butterfingers and I thought this would be the perfect time of year to make them!
These Butterfingers are so easy to make, they are made from three ingredients, yep, only 3!
Homemade Butterfingers
Adapted from recipe at Plain Chicken
1 lb candy corn {that’s why this is the perfect time of year to make them}
16oz jar peanut butter
Chocolate candy for coating
16oz jar peanut butter
Chocolate candy for coating
Melt candy corn in microwave on high 1 minute. Stir and continue cooking in 20 second intervals until melted, stirring after each interval. Stir in peanut butter. Spread mixture in an 8×8 pan lined with parchment or wax paper. Cool completely. Break into squares/bars. Drizzle melted chocolate over the bars. Lay on waxed paper until cool. Store in refrigerator. Enjoy!
The original recipe said to cut them into bars but I broke mine because I think it shows the “Butterfinger texture” more. Don’t they look delicious!?
I also wanted a rich chocolate coating so I used dark chocolate chips and semi-sweet Baker’s squares for my chocolate coating. Technically this means I used 4 ingredients since I had 2 types of chocolate. :/
Mmmmmmmmmm!
I love it! My dish is cute and no longer empty. Now it’s filled with delicious, rich and crunchy butterfingers!
Enjoy!
Note: read all of the comments on the original post and many of them said that their bars didn’t turn out with the same texture as the Butterfinger candy bar. Mine did though. I cooled mine in the refrigerator and then also stored them in the fridge. I think this really allowed the peanut butter to harden giving it the original “Butterfinger crunch”. I LOVE Butterfingers and these were amazing, better than the originals because of the dark/semi-sweet chocolate coating.

Mine turned.out crispy I think because I may have over cooked.the candy corn it was bubbly when I mixed the peanut butter in. Taste amazing!
