I shared this recipe over at Tatertots and Jello a couple weeks ago but these chocolate molten lava cakes are so delicious that I had to share them here too! This is one of my all time favorite recipes to make when we have guests over because it is so good and super easy. These chocolate lava cakes only have five ingredients in them and they are normal, everyday ingredients that you probably already have in your fridge and pantry!
I promise, these chocolate lava cakes taste even better than they look and your guests will be so impressed with how decadent they taste! I promise not to tell them how easy they are, if you promise to keep it a secret too! {wink} Enjoy!!!

Quick question: we don’t have Baker’s Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate here in Ireland, so could you tell me how much 6 squares is in grams, approximately? Hopefully I can find a similar alternative here.

Hi, I had a customer come in and want a half sheet cake of one of these chocolate molten lava cakes. I have never made these before, but I was wondering if you knew if this recipe would work in a cake form instead of ramekins…I know of course I would probably have to triple the recipe or more But was just thinkin.

Anna that sounds SOOOO amazing!! And amazingly simple too. They always look so intimidating when I see them at restaurants but now I’m going to have to try and make some at home. Thanks for sharing this! 🙂

I can’t wait to make these. Choco Molten Lava Cake is my husband’s favorite dessert ever. He’d be so psyched to come home to this. And, umm, I’d prob enjoy it too…
Diane says
What size Ramekins do you use?
Anna says
I’ve used a few different sizes. You could even use a bowl if you were really craving chocolate! 🙂 I just watch it and pull it out when I think it’s cooked good enough for the size I’m using. The times I gave are just general guidelines.

This just happened at my house! SO good! We used 6 oz of chocolate chips instead of baking chocolate. We were anxious and tried to take cakes out of ramekins shortly out of the oven…”lava” was oozing everywhere. We waited a little longer (3 mins or so) and they came out perfect!!

I just made my own rendition of these lava cakes, and was so surprised how easy they were! I was able to make them on a school night! Needless to say, my mom and I devoured these. Check out my post here: http://cannella-vita.blogspot.com/2013/03/dark-chocolate-lava-cakes.html
