Classic bourbon mule mixed with apple cider. This apple cider bourbon mule is perfect for all your fall gatherings.
Hi! This is Andrea from Cooking with a Wallflower, and I’m back on Ask Anna to share with you a fall inspired recipe just in time for the holidays.
So much has happened since I was last on here. Back in October, I got married at a bed and breakfast in Livermore wine country. We had spent the last six months planning all the details so it’s a relief that we no longer have to do that. Two days after our wedding, my husband and I went on our honeymoon. We spent two weeks exploring Singapore and Bali. Everything from art and culture to food was amazing.
Coming home, going back to work, and adjusting back to routine had been difficult after all our adventures. Lol
Luckily for us, the holidays are just around the corner. So there’s still plenty of things to look forward to.
With just Thanksgiving mere weeks away, I’m already trying to plan our meal. From appetizers to desserts to drinks, I like to know ahead of time what we’ll be eating. That way, we could shop early and not deal with the crowds as it gets closer to the day.
This year, Thanksgiving will look a little different. It’s the first year we’re combining our family. And I’m kind of stressing out about what to serve or how to host.
But definitely, a fall inspired cocktail is what we need to start the festivities.
My husband’s favorite alcohol is bourbon. My favorite drink is a Moscow mule. So I thought I’d combine our two favorites to make a fall inspired drink.
I love that the apple cider has all the fall vibes. A little bit of bourbon whiskey. A pour of apple cider and ginger beer. A splash of lemon juice. You can have an amazing cocktail in just minutes. Plus, as always, you can adjust the alcohol and sweetness to taste.
In a medium glass, add bourbon and apple cider. Add lemon juice and crushed ice. Then top with ginger beer.
You can serve the apple cider bourbon mule in a glass or in a copper cup. Since I don’t own a copper cup, I just use one of our glasses to serve.
Enjoy!
Andrea
