Hi! This is Andrea from Cooking with a Wallflower. I’m back on Ask Anna this month to share with you another brand new recipe. This time it’s homemade parmesan bagels, perfect for breakfast!

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with making my own bagels at home, especially after I stumbled across a basic bagel recipe that requires no yeast! Seriously, sometimes when something requires yeast as an ingredient, I steer clear of it. Mostly because I don’t have much patience for it. I don’t having to wait for the dough to rise. Lol. Does anyone else feel the same way?

These bagels are super easy to make with simple ingredients that you probably already have at home. All you need are honey Greek yogurt, flour, baking powder, salt, parmesan cheese, egg, and milk. See? Simple and basic.

Preheat the oven to 375F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray the surface with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Use a whisk to mix well.

Drain the yogurt if there is any liquid accumulating at the top. You want as little liquid as possible to be added to the dough. Add honey Greek yogurt to the mixing bowl, and use a fork to mix until all the ingredients are well combined.

Generously dust a flat work surface with all purpose flour. I even lightly covered my hands with flour so that the dough doesn’t stick to my hands. Place the dough onto the work surface and knead the dough several times until the dough is no longer super sticky and doesn’t stick to your hands. Add more flour to your work surface as needed.

Once the dough is ready, divide the dough into four even balls. Roll the balls into 3/4inch thick ropes and then join the ends together to form a bagel. Or if you prefer, you can break each of the balls in half and roll those into balls to create bagel bites instead.

In a small bowl, whisk together egg and milk. Brush the egg wash over the top of each of the bagels or bagel bites. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded parmesan cheese over the bagels.

Bake these homemade parmesan bagels for about 25-28 minutes until the tops of the bagels are browned.

Serve these homemade parmesan bagels with cream cheese or your favorite ingredients.

Enjoy!
