The Fastest Way to Clean up Messes

We love the Olympics! Every time the Olympics are on we spend hours glued to the TV, sitting on the edge of our seats, watching, and waiting to see what will unfold. In honor of the upcoming Olympics, I thought it would be fun to hold a little competition in our house, to see what the fastest way to clean up messes would be. I know, I’m such a cleaning nerd, but as busy moms, I know we don’t have time to waste on cleaning up spills and messes!

For the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Bounty has teamed up with Four-Time Olympic Gold Medal Sprinter Allyson Felix, one of the fastest women in the world, so I thought it would be fun to put Bounty paper towels to the test to see if they are as fast as Allyson. 🙂

For this “event” I cleaned up lots of real-life messes that we, as parents, deal with every day. Everything from spilled milk—from a rushed breakfast—to dirty footprints by the door, I wanted to see how fast I could clean up all these messes using just my Bounty paper towels.

As moms we clean up lots of messes but now it's even faster with the new Bounty towels. They are 2x more absorbent so you can clean up quickly & get back to enjoying your family | Ask Anna

To get started I tore off a handful of paper towels off the roll, then I got about 1/2 of them damp. I know for some messes I will need them to be damp but for the spilled liquids I want them to be dry.

Ready… set… go!

Mess #1 – spilled milk and cereal

Mess #2 – spilled juice on the counter
Mess #3 – crumbs on the floor from yesterday’s snack time

Mess #4 – oil splatters on the counter from last nights dinner prep
Mess #5 – finger prints and smudges on the SS appliances
Mess #6 – dirty foot and paw prints by the door. On my way to clean up the bathroom I noticed the dirty footprints on the floor, which are a very common occurrence this time of year.
Mess #7 – toothpaste in the sink and splattered on the mirror (how and why this happens will always baffle me)

Mess #8 – dog smudges on the mirrors and glass doors
Mess #9 – dusting off furniture in the living room and dining room

Mess #10 – picking up dead gnats on the window sills (I hate those little buggers!)

After I finished cleaning up all these messes, I ran back to the timer to see that it took me just under 10 minutes to do all that! I’m no expert but I’d that’s pretty fast considering I cleaned up everything from the kitchen, to the floor, to the kids bathroom, and even the living room! I think next time I’ll try to beat my time, just like the athletes do. 🙂

Bounty is 2X more absorbent vs. the leading ordinary brand so it allows you to clean up messes as fast as Allyson Felix can run a race. 🙂 It’s also super durable so you can rinse and wring them out, to re-use them, just like you would a washcloth, which is helpful when cleaning up spilled liquids.

I had a lot of fun throwing this mini competition and it was fun to see how quick the Quicker Picker Upper really is! Now it’s your turn! Bounty is inviting YOU to join Team Quicker Picker Upper on line and share your best quicker picker upper tips that showcase how Bounty helps you beat the clock when it comes to cleaning up the messes in your home. Tweet your tip to @Bounty and use #quicktip and #promotion. For every tip you share, Bounty will donate $1 to the Community Olympic Development Program, which partners with youth sports groups “to enhance high quality intermediate sports programs for talented youth, to maximize their potential in Olympic and Paralympic sports.” So your messy tip could help a kid get the boost in training they need to make it to the Olympics some day!
