Hey all, it’s Krista from While He Was Napping again! I hope your holiday celebrations were fantastic and that you’re ready to tackle a new year! In all honesty, I wasn’t too sad to say good-bye to 2014. We had some good times, like adding our littlest little guy to the family, but it was kind of a rough year for us. I’m ready for a new start and the motivation to make some changes in our little world, to set some new goals for a new year. You with me?
I’m not sure what it is about the clock striking midnight on January 1st and the knowledge that for the next week and a half I will write the wrong date on everything I bother to write the date on, but that flip of the digit on the year we are in has given me the determination to make things better – for myself, my family, my home, my blog, my life. But, I am a very busy lady and things often slip past me unintentionally. I realized a couple months ago that I found myself thinking “how come I feel like I didn’t get anything done today?” A LOT. And it was discouraging. So, I decided this year I am going to FOCUS more. On using my time better, being intentional with the things I do and to do more of the things I find important in my life. So, to help me FOCUS, I created a little New Year Printable and I want to share it with all of you today.
I sat down last week and filled this out. Then I stuck it on my fridge (and have plans to laminate it this next week)… because I need THAT much of a reminder. With three kids and a husband and church and family and work, life gets busy and I can have a hard time with the focusing I so intend to do this year. So, I put it right in front of my face… and since it’s on the fridge it will be right in front of my face multiple times each day. Hopefully, this will help me accomplish the things I want to do and to quit asking “why didn’t I get anything done today?” I’ve instituted a “To-Done List” to help with that as well, but that’s a whole ‘nother post!

I hope this new year has inspired you to make things better in your life, because even good and great things can be just a little bit better. If you have trouble focusing, like I do, I hope it will help you to focus on what you want out of this year by taking a few minutes to write it down where you can refer to it again and again. Maybe you don’t need it laminated and plastered on your fridge too, but if you do, that’s okay too! Onward to bigger and better things! We’ve got this and this year is going to be awesome, right?! We’re gonna make it so. Happy 2015! See you next month!
Encourage your kiddos to set goals this year too, with this fun and easy to fill out Goals Countdown printable:
You can also see the “To-Done List” post I mentioned above, if you find yourself getting discouraged with a too long to-do list.
