You may recall my recent makeover in Malea’s bedroom, but after I was done with the makeover there was one wall that was bugging me because it was just too blank. Too much blank space gives me the heebee geebeez, is it just me, or are you like that too? Here’s the wall I’m talking about.
See what I mean? It’s a huge, boring and sad wall. So I started thinking about what I could put there and then a light bulb went off in my mind. Malea LOVES to color, paint and draw so I thought making this wall a feature wall for her artwork would be fun.
To make the bedroom artwork display I gathered a few things that I had from around the house. The first thing I grabbed was a metal bar from IKEA that I used to have in my office at our old house. Using drywall screws (since her artwork isn’t heavy) I hung the bar on the wall.
Then I found these clips that I had also bought at IKEA, thinking that someday I’d like to do something with her artwork in her room.
After the clips were hung I went through some of her artwork from Kindergarten and hung it up.
Next time I get to IKEA (we are two hours away from one!) I’d love to get another bar, so I can hang more of her artwork, but until then I love the way it turned out. When I showed it to her I could tell she was so proud to have her art displayed.
I also think it was the perfect addition to the blank, boring wall, don’t you? I know I’m biased but for a 5 year old I think she’s a pretty darn good artist! 🙂

We have the thick wire one from ikea. I LOVE our rotating art wall. With 4 kids, they each have a spot to put up their art or leave their favorite up. 🙂
