I’m not a fan of having a knife block on the counter so I’ve always stored my knifes in a drawer on all the wall. At our old house we had a magnetic knife strip on the wall and I loved it! However in our new house we have this awful extra tall backsplash which doesn’t allow for a magnetic knife strip.
So when we moved in I resorted to putting my knives in a drawer but it always drives me crazy that they move around and don’t look organized all the time. But today I’m going to show you how to organize kitchen knives, if you don’t want them on the counter, with this awesome In-drawer Knife Block I found on Zulily!
Here’s what my knives looked like before the knife block.
They look organized, and they are, but when we open and close the drawer the knives shift and aren’t always perfectly lined up, like I want them to be. I am constantly putting them back in place because I’m a little OCD like that.
Enter the knife block and VOILA!
I love how organized and easily accessible my knifes are now. And the best part is that they won’t move around all the time. Now I also have time to move the can openers next to the knife block so they aren’t hiding in the back of the drawer. 🙂
Let me tell you, I know this is silly, but I am one happy girl having my knife drawer look so clean and organized now! If you want to get an In Drawer Knife Block for your kitchen you can find them at KMart, Target, Amazon and sometimes Zulily, when they have the sale going on.
How do you organize your kitchen knives? Are you an on the counter kind of gal, a magnetic strip gal or a stick ’em in the drawer kind of gal?

I love having my knives and most kitchen utensils on the counter. I hate digging through drawers to bury and unbury cooking tools. To me, the common essentials being on the counter in a jar just makes sense with the rarely used items in a drawer.
Love this idea! I hate having a huge knife block taking up counter space. Also, your knives are so cute! Where did you get them!?
The colorful ones are from Costco. 🙂
