Do you love playing games with your family? Games are fun but they can also create a lot of clutter. So today I’m taking you to two of my friend’s houses to show you their game closet organization tips.
The first stop is at my friend Bethany’s house.
You can tell their family loves games because they’ve got kid games, adult games, puzzles, crafts and more! Each shelf is labeled and there are arrows that shows where each genre goes.
The kids’ games and puzzles are on the lower shelves so it easy for her little kids to reach them when they want to play.
And the adult games are higher up so the kids can’t get into them.
She also has a craft shelf that is accessible to her oldest daughter but above the heads of the little girls.
I love Bethany’s game closet organization because each shelf is clearly marked and even though they have a ton of games they are all easily accessible for the adults and the kids.
The second stop is at my friend Georgia’s house.
She also has a very organized game closet, complete with games, crafts and more.
I love that she stores her games on their sides, like books, instead of stacking them. This makes it easy to get a game out without having to take out all the other games on top of it. I’ve honestly never thought to do this but I will definitely do it from now on!
The lower shelves are where she stores all their card games, puzzles and of course what house wouldn’t be complete without a HUGE tub of Nerf toys {wink}. Having all these things on the lower shelves makes them easily accessible to the kids to get out and put away when they are done with them.
Here’s a close look at one of their gaming baskets. All the video games are stored in one place where it’s easy for the kids to find, and then return, when they are finished playing.
Both of their closets have inspired me to put a game closet together. Currently my games, puzzles, etc. are scattered around in different rooms, I think it’s time to make a space for them!

I like to put my games on their side as well in our game cabinet. I can fit more games that way. I also like to use a bin for smaller games or traveling games. A designated game closet or cabinet helps my kids know where the games go and help minimize the amount of missing game pieces. Great photos. Thanks for sharing.
