I don’t know about you but laundry is NOT my favorite thing to do. However since I started blogging a couple years ago, I have discovered some great tips for making doing the laundry quicker and easier. There are actually a lot of great tips right here on Ask Anna so today I’m doing a laundry tips round-up to make it easy for you to find all the tips with just one click!
#1 Let’s start with the basics of establishing a good laundry routine.
After reading this post I started doing my laundry this way, and it has made laundry day so much better. I now get all my loads done in one day and my clothes don’t sit around in the basket, waiting to get folded. {Oh yeah, I used to do that!}
#2 Here are a couple great tips for removing unwanted stains from your clothes:
Grease
Paint
#3 And for those of you that are jean lovers, like myself, here is a great tip for how to keep your jeans from fading! When I spend a lot of money on a pair of jeans I want them to look brand new for a long time, with this tip, they will do just that!
#4 Summer is coming to an end, but for those of you that wear tank tops year round {that’s me}, here is a tip for how to keep your tank top straps from getting all tangled in the wash. {I hate it when that happens!}
#5 Once all the laundry is done, and it’s time to put it away, here is a genius tip for how to hang your clothes super quickly! It would even be fun to teach this to your kids and have a race to see who can get the most hung, the quickest!

Now the only question is, what are you doing to do with all your extra time, now that your laundry is going to get done so quickly!?

Maybe this is a silly question, but I’m going to ask it anyway… the laundry tips where you’re adding baking soda or vinegar – those would never be done on the same load at the same time, correct? Or would the water in the machine prevent the chemical reaction?
Anna says
You could use them together, it wouldn’t harm anything, but I think it’s more whichever product you prefer. I use both of them but in different loads, for different reasons. I think my favorite is using vinegar to prevent color bleeding, I use that one all the time since my daughter has so many colorful clothes! 🙂
Mommy Battles says
My daughter has a lot of colorful clothes that bleed and I always hand wash them separately which takes me a lot of time. I’ll definitely try the vinegar tip.

I didn’t know you could use vinegar in a load of colorful clothes. Will this help a new red shirt from bleeding, as well?
Thanks so much for these great links! I hate laundry but am determined to get it done!!
Anna says
Yes it will definitely help to keep it from bleeding. The best thing though would be to soak just the shirt in vinegar before washing it. The vinegar will help to set the color.

Hi Anna,
I have a very hard time keeping my white sheets white and smelling fresh. I am thinking of throwing them all away. What do you recommend if anything to get out the dingy grayish look to them?
Thanks
Laurie C
Anna says
If they are really dingy it might be best to just get rid of them and start over. In the future I recommend my homemade laundry detergent: https://askannamoseley.com/2013/05/the-best-homemade-laundry-detergent-and-why/. Also adding baking soda to the wash (if you don’t use that detergent recipe), will help to keep your whites whiter. For specific stains on white sheets and towels use oxi clean to remove them. 🙂
