Last year I found this wreath on Pinterest and fell in love with it. So when Fall came around this year I knew exactly which wreath I wanted to make for my front door.
We live in town so there aren’t a lot of twigs laying around, but luckily I had some tall, decorative twigs that I had purchased from IKEA a few years ago. I wasn’t using them for anything so I broke them up into smaller pieces for my wreath.
Next I made a bunch of fabric rosettes with some pretty Fall fabric that I had purchased at JoAnn’s. After I had made all my rosettes and broken up all my sticks, I was ready to start putting my wreath together.
First I glued all the rosettes together in a circle form to create the center of the wreath. Then, using my hot glue gun, I started gluing all the twigs onto the rosettes.
I glued the twigs all the way around the circle, rotating them–wide, skinny, tall, short.
After all the twigs were glued onto the rosettes I realized I needed a wreath form to give my wreath structure. Using a box I got from Costco, and my exacto knife I cut a circle out of the cardboard.
It’s not a perfect circle, but it doesn’t matter because no one is going to see it, and it was free!
I glued the cardboard to the sticks, which worked for a little while, but because it was still so hot outside the glue kept melting. So I brought the wreath back into the house and tied strips of twine between all of the rosettes. I actually like the way it looks even more now because I think the twine gives it an even better Fall look!
So here’s the finished project, my Fall rosette wreath!
I’m very excited with the way it turned out and I’ve received lots of compliments on it, from people that have come over!
What did you make for your Fall wreath this year? I would love to see because I love wreaths and I’m always looking for new ideas! If you still haven’t made one you can visit my Wreaths board on Pinterest for ideas!
