I’m going to keep this short and sweet because I have a lot of pictures to show you! This Saturday, August 11th, I had the privilege of decorating my friend’s wedding. I was a little anxious because I’ve never decorated a wedding, other than my own, but I knew that she trusted me and had full confidence that I could bring her vision to life, so I was also really excited. But I knew I couldn’t do it all on my own so I called in my awesome assistant, Monique, and my best friend, Heather. They were both awesome and helped me bring Candace’s vision to life! So without further ado her are lots and lots of pictures from the wedding!
Meet Candace and Josiah, the beautiful couple!
Pictures of Candace and Josiah hung with clothes pins.
The delicious candy bar.
Even the drink station was pretty, with mint from my own garden added to the water.
Oh and a “Munchie Bar” for the guests, while the family pictures are being taken after the ceremony. I love brides that think about taking care of their guests!
The table settings.
Looking out over the dance floor to the bride and groom table.
I love love love this chandelier that Candace bought to be placed over their table!
Did I mention how much I loved it??? 🙂
This picture makes me want to squeal with excitement! I love the way it turned out!
Mr. and Mrs. chairs at the bride and groom table.
I just HAD to open the barn doors and let some light in and I’m so glad I did because it made everything look so much more beautiful.
Here are a few of the other little details.
Now onto the ceremony. She wanted it very simple and it was simple but beautiful.
Unity sand table.
I also loved these old doors that were the backdrop for the bride and groom. Her grandpa was so funny; he was telling me how he told Candace that he could refinish the door and give it a fresh coat of paint, but he was so confused when she told him, “Grandpa don’t touch that door, I want it just the way it is!” I guess he doesn’t understand “shabby chic”. 🙂
Simple and yet so beautiful.
Oh and remember my photo booth!? I was so excited when she said she wanted to use it for her wedding! I can’t wait to see all the pictures.
And does this look familiar? This is the “smoking lounge” for the men, similar to the one I had at my Mad Men party.
And we can’t forget about the cake! I love the cake stand that Josiah made for their cake and the cupcakes! It was even more beautiful in person!
Edit: Please don’t email me asking me about this cake stand, I did not make it, the groom made it for their wedding then sold it to a local cake shop. If you would like to make one for yourself, here are the measurements – the top tier is 10″, then they are 15″, 19″, and 24″. Wood rounds are not always easy to get an exact measurement on but as long as the top tier is not larger than 10″ it should look great!
Yummy cupcakes, mmmm!
I loved her cake too, so simple, but gorgeous!
I especially loved the succulents on the cake topper!
Okay, I know this is a lot of pictures but I just have a few more to show you. I just loved every detail of this wedding that I can’t leave anything out!
This drink menu is so fun and such a great way to display the “hosted” drinks for the night. {Did I spell anything wrong?}
Oh and how cute is this!? A carriage for the gifts… adorable.
This was also a fun way for guests to “sign” in. I love that they will be able to display this tree in their home for years to come.
Okay, now a few ceremony pictures, because I can’t not show you the ceremony!
Isn’t she a stunning bride?
Her excited groom. 🙂
Ceremony details.
I love the back of her dress!!!
It was a beautiful ceremony.
Thank you so much Candace for letting me be a part of your special day! It was an honor to make your vision become a reality and I loved every minute of it!

Hey anna where did you get your cake stand? I absolutely love it and i’m on the hunt for one! Thanks!
Anna says
The bride and groom made it. If you’d like, I can ask them if they would be willing to make a custom one for you.

My son is getting married at a park….I love the wedding. Cake stand. Is he willing to sell it?
Anna says
I can ask them. Do you live locally? It is WAY to heavy to ship.

Hi There,
For your cupcake stand, did you treat the wood or do anything to prevent it from cracking?
It is awesome and we are making one similar to that for my wedding!
Liz

I asked my friend who made it and she said they did 4-5 coats of lacquer on the stand. She couldn’t remember which kind they used but I’m sure you could ask someone at the hardware store what they best kind would be. 🙂
Angelina says
Beauty! So – are there any directions for the cake stand in circulationÉ Could you email them to me if there areÉ
Thanks!

Angelina,
This Monique, Anna’s assistant. Unfortunately, Annna did not participate in the construction of the cake stand. I would imagine depending on how many tiers you wanted you can cut them out of rounds of wood and then put smaller logs in between. We don’t have official instructions though. You might try looking on Pinterest. Sorry we could not be more help!
Debbie says
Beautiful! Love everything! Can you tell me what the dimensions are of the tree stumps on the cake display?
Thank you !
Anna says
Hi Debbie! I actually don’t know what the dimensions are, I’m sorry. My friend’s husband made it with scrap pieces of wood he’d cut, I don’t think he even measured, he just pieced it together.
Michelle says
I love everything about this wedding. This is exactly what I’ve been picturing for my wedding.
claudine osborne says
Did you make the tree slice cake stand? If so do you have the dimensions? We are planning on making this for our nieces wedding. Thank You
Anna says
I didn’t make it, my friend’s husband made it for their wedding. I’m not sure what the measurements are but if you’re going to make your own, I would start by cutting the base the size you want, then determining the other sizes from there. 🙂 Good luck! I’d love to see a picture if you make one.
