Vinegar Uses: Natural Beauty Tips

Vinegar Uses: Natural Beauty Tips
This is the last day of the Vinegar Series {sad face}.  I don’t know about you but I have learned so much from this series!  If this is the first vinegar post you’ve seen then you can go back and read all of them here.

Today we are talking about four easy beauty tips.

I know secretly {or maybe not so secretly} we all want to look young longer.  Hopefully these tips will help you to do that naturally and inexpensively!

#1 Get rid of Blemishes

Oh man, you better believe I will be using this one!  “To get rid of blemishes mix one part apple cider vinegar with 10 parts water and put [it] in a clean glass bottle.  After washing your face as usual, dab the solution on your blemishes with a cotton ball.  You can do this several times a day without drying out your skin.  Vinegar helps adjust the pH balance in your skin, [therefore] treating and preventing new blemishes.”

Vinegar Uses: Natural Beauty Tips

Hallelujah, praise the Lord for this tip!  Thanks to those wonderful monthly hormones I’m sure it will be sooner, rather than later, that I get to use this tip!

#2 Age spots
To lighten, or get rid of age spots “mix equal parts of onion juice and apple cider vinegar and [apply] it daily [to the] age spots.  Within a couple of weeks [you will notice a difference].”
#3 Preserving Hair Coloring
“To prevent your new hair color [from] fading, rinse with a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts cold water (as cold as you can stand it).  This will seal the color and prevent fading.”  I will definitely be trying this the next time I color my hair!  I am naturally blonde {are you surprised?} so I tend to spend a lot on shampoo and conditioner to keep the red coloring from fading.  Sounds like this will be a much cheaper solution!
#4 Getting Rid of Hot Flashes
I wish I had known this trick after having my daughter, because I had the worst hot flashes for a couple of weeks!  To get rid of hot flashes “take 1 or 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water 3 times a day, or more.  The taste isn’t bad, [it won’t] upset your stomach and the hot flashes should go right away!”
Vinegar Uses: Natural Beauty Tips

Thanks for joining me throughout this vinegar series!  Do you have any vinegar tricks that you’d like to share with me?  Leave me a comment, I would love to hear about them!

This series is based on a book I received from my mom at Christmas.  All items in quotations are referenced from Vinegar: 1001 Practical Household Uses.

10 to 1. For example, for ever 1 oz of water, add 10 oz of vinegar.

Hi Anna! I’m not sure if you’re still doing this since your comments are so long ago, but I had a question about the apple cider vinegar mix for hot flashes. I recently heard about it from my husband’s co-worker. Today I mixed 2 cups apple cider vinegar to 8 cups water and I cannot stomach it. Do you think it works the same if you add something to it like a juice or some kind of energy/protein powder?

Totally! I think adding a little honey would make it not taste so “toxic”. 🙂 Or adding juice is also a great idea!

How exactly do you get onion juice? I would think lemon juice and apple cider vinegar would help lighten age spots.

I’m not really sure. You might be able to buy it at a health food store.

Thank you so much for the tips. I love using natural alternatives for my beauty products. I use apple cider vinegar inside and out side my body, it’s even great for heart burn. Good read, thanks.
