Question
“The challenge I have with power cords is how to keep them looking neat when you plug them into a wall outlet. I hate the sight of cords running from my desk to the wall plus I am always in danger of tripping over them.”
Answer
This is a great question because I think we all have this problem. Wouldn’t it be nice if everything were wireless? I’m sure someday soon we will be there but for now we’ve got to deal with those pesky power cords! Until everything has gone wireless, I have a few very creative ways for you to organize power cords and get them off the floor. We definitely don’t want you tripping over cords!
In your office or under a table this is a fantastic solution. 4 little hooks and a basket from the dollar store creates the perfect place to hide those pesky cords.

Adding inexpensive tags, and labeling each cord, is a great way to keep them organized. That way you know exactly which one you are unplugging. 🙂

This is another great solution. It requires a little bit of handy work with some wood, nails and paint but it’s a perfect solution for keeping cords off the floor.

I love love love this idea! We have to have our router, etc in our bedroom and I hate looking at it. What an inexpensive way to hide them as well as adding a little decoration to the room. Personally I love boxes so the thought of putting this in my room excites me!

This would also be a great way to hide cords behind a TV. Cut a hole in each side of the box, one for the side that goes to the TV, the other for the side that goes to the wall. Then label the boxes and stack them behind the TV. This way you know what cord is attached to what and there isn’t a rat’s nest of cords behind your TV!
All of these are inexpensive and easy solutions for keeping power cords neat and tucked away. No more tripping on cords and no longer will they be an eyesore!
