Makeover Updates {Kitchen and Bathroom}

So I’ve been telling you that I’ve been doing a lot of painting but I haven’t actually “revealed” anything to you yet.  The reason is that I’m not quite done with either project.  When I get back from vacation I need to make a trip down to IKEA to buy some light fixtures and I also want to save up so that I can paint our counter tops.  However even though the kitchen and our bathroom are not quite finished I am dying to share them with you.  So I decided to do a Projects in Progress post today.  I will do a full reveal of each once I am able to complete the aforementioned finishing touches but I think you will enjoy the sneak peaks. 🙂 Do you remember how I painted my kitchen just a few months ago?  Well after getting addicted to Pinterest and seeing so many pictures of bright and airy kitchens I decided that I needed another change.   Here’s the kitchen when we moved in {blah}

 

Here it is a couple months ago when I painted the walls and we redid the cabinets {a little better}

Here it is now {way better!}

I still have work to do but every day when I see it I smile. 🙂

I really like the open shelving, I think it opens up the kitchen so much more.

Here’s a look at the bathroom before, a lot of white: white walls, white floors, white cabinets. {BOR-ING!)

Here’s the old light fixture, I hated it so much!

Here’s my new light fixture: $18 at Lowes!!!  I got a crazy deal on it because it was on clearance.  And yes, the second light in is crooked, I need to fix it. 🙂

    It looks great! I have some in my kitchen on the tops of my cabinets that made a big difference. I have no idea how dirty it is up there so I hope it's not terrible 🙂 That's the part I would be concerned about – the dust/smog getting into my everyday dishes. Otherwise, it looks lovely!       I’m so sorry, I don’t remember it and we don’t live there anymore. :/ If you are looking for a good gray color I can recommend one, if you’re interested. 🙂
