In our new house we have a beautiful view of the mountains, however this is what we were seeing from the inside looking out. Lots and lots of water spots, and probably YEARS of uncleaned windows. (Kind of kills the view doesn’t it?)
It’s pretty bad, and it was really starting to bug me.
But since we are in the middle of Fall Cleaning, I thought this would be the perfect time to show you how to wash windows without chemicals! I used to wash my outside windows with a bucket of soapy water and a squeegee, but since the SteamMachine has a steam attachment for windows I thought I’d give it a try!

Steaming the windows was a very quick and easy way to clean them and it was much easier then lugging around a bucket of water, a rag and a squeegee. We started at the bottom of the window and released the steam as we moved the wand up to the top of the window.
Then as we pulled the squeegee down, toward the bottom of the window, we would steam some more. Some of the windows we didn’t have to steam it both up and down, but on the really dirty windows we had to. The SteamMachine holds a lot of water so we were able to do 19 windows and doors before we had to refill the water tank!
Look at the transformation it made! No products, no chemicals, just steam!
Now we can enjoy the view from our house and not have to look through the “haze” of water spots and years of dirt. Cleaning the windows is not my favorite Fall and Spring cleaning task, but it is definitely one of the most rewarding!

Wow! That just looks so awesome. I have 42 windows in my house, which I love and hate that I love. It’s very hard to keep it clean inside with little ones and cats who visit with the views regularly. I’ve all but given up on the outside. This seems so wonderfully easy to do and it would really make me happy.

Do you know if the steam would cause the window seal (inside the double panes) to fail? Would it void the warranty? I would love to clean my windows this way, but would worry the heat from the steam would cause the seal to fail.
I used a steam mop at a clients house and loved it, but it only did floors. I am switching over food and cleaning products in my home to as few ingredients and as unprocessed as possible. Water is about as unprocessed as it gets and only one ingredient! I am also an artist and love to experiment with unusual materials and methods. I wonder what steam could allow me to do with my artwork?
I’m thinking the wallpaper removal steam plate or the floor mop would be my favorite arrachments.

I love the fact that it includes a steam mop, in addition to all the other attachments. I have a steam mop, but all it does it mop floors. To have one machine to do all of it would be great (especially no-touch-toilet-cleaning-cuz-eww).

After seeing this window washing post I am sold on the window cleaning attachment. I inherited awful windows the house I moved into. My brother-in-law scraped one with a razor blade to clean it and it took forever. I am curious if the steam cleaner would get it done right.

I am most excited about the nozzle attachment to get around the toilet in my boys bathroom! The only way to get in the little grooves is a q-tip and that still doesn’t do the job well. I am also pretty excited about the window squeegee attachment! I’m not a fan of cleaning windows but this steamer just might make me one!
