Hello Ask Anna readers! My name is Kim and I am mama to a sweet little girl named Jayna and wife to my college sweetheart! I started my dream job a few days before Jayna was born and it has been quite the ride so far! From 36 hours of labor (totally worth it), to helping her learn to walk (who knew it took so much effort?), I have found motherhood to be the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever experienced.
I recently started blogging about our adventures over at A Real-Life Housewife. I also share useful household tips and tricks as I find and apply them. In fact I have one for you right now!
I’m going to show you how to clean the blender the FAST and EASY way!
There were many a times, before I learned this trick, that my blender sat dirty on the kitchen counter after using it, until the left overs stuck to the sides and I had to scrub and scrub or fill it and let it soak for a while in order to clean it. And that sharp little blade was always so hard to wash. Sound familiar? Well I have a solution! And you don’t even have to take it apart.
Here’s what to do:
- Fill it 3/4 of the way with water and add a squirt of dish soap.
- Run the blender for 20-30 seconds.
- Rinse
Voila! A clean blender in hardly any time!
Give it a try next time you whip up some smoothies, and let me know how it goes! Thanks so much Anna, for letting me be a part of your blog today!

Add an ice cube for traction and scrubbing. Just one- you are not making a smoothie here. As the cube gets kicked around, it will knock gunk off the blade.

That was a GREAT hint. I can’t believe I never thought of it.
