Can you believe you’ve made it through the entire challenge!? I am so proud of each one of you and I have truly enjoyed seeing your completed tasks. As a thank you for all of your hard work today I have a little gift for you. It’s a free printable of my cleaning schedule and it’s brand new, hot off the press! It’s easy to get clean an organized once, but to stay clean and organized is a challenge in and of itself. This year I am challenging all of us {including myself} to get on a cleaning… Read More
Day #13: Storing Seasonal Decorations
I have been asked many times how to organize and store seasonal decorations. Since we are starting 2012 clean and organized I thought this would be a good time to tackle this subject. I store my seasonal decorations in three different locations: baskets above the laundry room shelves, the storage closet in our guest bedroom and the garage. Let me explain. There are three different types of seasonal decorations: #1 Holiday decorations that are only used once a year #2 Candles and small accessories that can be switched out throughout the year #3 Vases and artificial flowers, plants, etc. Since… Read More
Day #12: Organizing with Binders – Manuals & Warranties
Today we are going to be organizing with binder for all of our manuals and warranties! Manuals are tricky to store because they are all different sizes, different thicknesses, and you probably have about 1,000 of them, one for every item in your house! Ugh! There should be a rule that they all have to be a certain size. It would really make our lives easier. 🙂 For years I have had all our manuals stored in our file cabinet. As the years have gone by, and we’ve bought more stuff, it was getting too cluttered and wasn’t working for… Read More
Day #11: How to Organize Cords & Chargers
Storing extra cords and chargers can be a pain because they can create quite a bit of clutter. But today I’m going to give you some tips for making it easier! I store all of our extra cords and charges in our entryway table. The drawers are wide and deep so they work perfectly for storing them. However they can also get quite messy. Here is what the drawers in my entry table looked like before I organized them: {YIKES!} Basically it was just a mumble jumble of cords, chargers, etc. To organize them I applied the same rules that… Read More
How to Clean an Oven
After a long holiday season I’m sure your oven could use a little cleaning, or a major detailing, I know mine does! So today I’m going to show you how to clean an oven. In fact, we will be cleaning every part of the oven. To thoroughly clean our ovens we will work our way from the inside out. If you have a self cleaning cycle on your oven I recommend using that because it’s the easiest way to tackle the tough drips on the bottom of the oven. However I know that many of you don’t have a self… Read More
Organizing the Linen Closet
Yesterday we organized our laundry rooms so today, for day #9, it’s time for organizing the linen closet. I have seen so many beautiful linen closets on Pinterest that I was dying to re-organize mine! First you will need more baskets. The ones I chose are from Target, but stores like the Dollar Tree also have lots of great basket. I just happened to have a gift card to Target. 🙂 In this picture you can see I tried the rolling method but then I nixed it! Next empty out your linen closet. I only use two shelves of my… Read More
