There’s an upcoming Pinterest party coming to Michaels all over the nation! I was asked to host the party at the Michaels in my city, so today I’m sharing the craft I’ll be making. We were given a variety of options for what we wanted to create but with my daughter’s upcoming FROZEN birthday party I was stopped in my tracks when I saw these beautiful blue bottles, in all shapes and sizes!
I thought they would make great FROZEN party decorations, and then after the party I could used them to decorate my house. Confession: I haven’t actually seen FROZEN yet, however I feel like I’ve seen it because Malea has reenacted it for me about 100 times! From what I know there is lots of snow, ice and beautiful blue colors, so I kept this in mind when I was deciding how I wanted to decorate the bottles.
Here are the supplies I ended up purchasing along with the glass bottles: craft paper, fabric flowers, glitter and Mod Podge.
The first thing I knew I wanted were some sparkly bottles like these from Organize and Decorate Everything. For the first bottle I painted it with Mod Podge where I wanted the glitter to stick.
Then I held it over a piece of tupperware to apply the glitter. Here are the results.
It turned out very sparkly and was Malea approved.
I wanted to do something a little different with the second bottle, but again I started by painting it with Mod Podge.
Next I wrapped the bottle in scrapbook paper.
After adding the paper I also added ribbon around the bottom of the bottle, and a flower at the top of one of the stems. This gave the bottle a little texture, but also kept it very “FROZEN” looking. {wink}
Here’s how my two bottles turned out.
I’m not sure what to put in them for the party but I love the way they turned out! They look great with the snowflakes and silver ornaments I bought for the party. The great thing about planning a FROZEN party for February is that you get to buy all the clearance Christmas decor in January!
I still need to decorate the other bottles but I’ll be finishing those at Michaels this Sunday at the Pinterest Party! If you live near a Michaels come out and craft with Hometalk, Michaels and one of your favorite bloggers, this Sunday, February 16th, 1pm – 4pm!
