In T-minus 6 days I am jumping on an airplane and flying to Cambodia! CRAZY!!! Some of you have probably seen me talking about it on my Facebook page, but for most of you this is probably the first you’re hearing about it. Let me share with you how this all came about…
To be honest I really don’t know why I am going on this trip. I feel like each step of my life these days is taken in faith, but I’m going to tell you the quick story of how this trip came about. I was driving down the mountain with one of the girls from the safe house (the one we hope to soon be bringing into our home) and she mentioned that her and the other girls from the house were going to be going on two mission trips this summer, Cambodia and Africa. For some reason Cambodia stuck out in my mind so a few days later, I asked one of the staff if I could go. She said I could absolutely go, and that was that. It seems surreal to me that I will be going to Cambodia this summer, but it feels right. I don’t know why I’m going, I just know that I have peace about it and that God wants me to go. I am also blown away by the thought of getting to minister to Cambodians, along side the girl we hope to soon call our daughter. I don’t know how God is going to use me/change me on this trip, but I know it’s going to be awesome.
I have never done anything like this before and I am excited to see how God will use me, and grow me on this trip. I am also excited to be traveling with some of the girls from the safe house because I know it will be incredible to minister side-by-side with them and watch how God uses them to minister to people through their stories and testimonies.
We will be working with Cambodian students, doing prison ministry, working with children, evangelism outreach, and baptizing believers. We will also be helping the poor by distributing rice, gift packages, medicines, and used eye glasses; building shelters for the homeless; helping with family retreats as well as other ministries. We will be traveling to many different towns and ministering at the former Khmer Rouge Communist village. It’s going to be a busy trip, but absolutely incredible at the same time!
While I’m gone I will be posting lots of pictures on my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. Make sure to follow along and join me on this journey! I’m going to try to video blog too but it will depend on my cell service.
The girls from the safe house still need to raise quite a bit of money (in the next 6 days) so if you would like to sponsor them please email me, or leave me a comment, and I can send you the information.
Thank you, in advance, for your support, your prayers and your sponsorship!!! If you need anything while I’m gone please contact my assistant, Monique, and she would be happy to help you!
