We have done SO MUCH WORK to our house, over the last couple years, but one room we haven’t touched is our master bedroom. I’ve been torn about spending money to fix it up because I know in the next year or two we are going to be doing a HUGE bedroom/bathroom remodel.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram for awhile, you may remember the paint swatches I threw up on the wall almost a year ago.
Well, guess what? Up until a couple weeks ago, they were still there! Isn’t that terrible? None of them really spoke to me, or gave me a vision for the space, so I just did nothing.
And then inspiration hit me a few weeks ago. I’ve been working with World Market, as one of their “brand ambassadors”, and I was given the opportunity to put together a statement wall. It wasn’t hard deciding what I wanted to use from the store, have you’ve seen their selection of clocks, it’s pretty inspiring for someone like me, who loves clocks!
As soon as I saw this 4′ Industrial Reed Wall Clock, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! What does this have to do with our bedroom, you’re asking, well, we have a very large, very empty wall in our room, so I decided it would be the perfect place for my clock statement wall.
The only problem was that it was an ugly off white/yellow color, with gray and tan paint swatches on it. Obviously that would make a statement, but not the kind I wanted to make, so I decided to be dramatic and paint the wall Witching Hour by Benjamin Moore.
Our room has lots of windows and a set of glass doors, that lead out to the deck, so there is plenty of light to support having 2 black walls. The best part is that the dark walls made the room feel cozy and romantic. Every master bedroom should feel romantic, right!? 😉
After I finished painting, I couldn’t wait to put the clocks up! You can read all about the design process behind the clock collage, and how to create your own statement wall, over on the World Market blog, but today I’m just showing you how it turned out and how there’s finally something fun up in our room!
These pillows are super fun too, and add a pop of color against the dark wall.
So what do you think? I know we’ll have to take it all down, and repaint, when we do the remodel, but it’s fun for now, and it’s 100 times better than the off white wall with paint swatches! 🙂
