Want to hear something crazy? We got a puppy this weekend!!! I honestly thought we’d never own a dog because I didn’t grow up with them so I’ve never been a big fan, the whole jumping, licking, shedding thing, isn’t really my thing, but after enough pressure from my husband and daughters, we finally have one.
Meet Scarlett. We told the girls we were getting a puppy at Christmas, and after about 30 seconds, Malea had already named her Scarlett. She’s a pure breed Vizsla, which are known to be great running dogs. My husband is an avid runner so he wanted a running dog, I wanted a dog that was clean, and didn’t shed, and with a little Google searching we discovered Vizslas. 🙂
So why am I sharing this on my blog? Well getting a puppy is definitely going to effect the amount of time I have to write in the next couple of weeks. I’m the only one at home all day, which leaves me to do the job of potty training, puppy sitting, exercising her, etc. As much as I’d like to think that life will just go on the same, I know that’s not reality and that potty training a puppy is going to consume a lot of my time for a few weeks.
The weekend before we picked Scarlett up, we met with a trainer, who gave us tons of great tips, so I feel empowered, and confident I can do this, but it’s probably going to mean that I don’t get much else accomplished. 🙂 If you follow me on Instagram I’m sure you’ll get to see lots of cute pictures of our new little Scarlett, like this one of her napping on me, while I enjoy my Sunday bubbles. I promise I’ll get back to regular posting on my blog, as soon as I can!
We have some BIG THINGS coming up for our house! This spring we are going to be making over our downstairs playroom area, that’s currently stuck in the early 90’s and we are FINALLY going to be tackling our bedroom/bathroom remodel. I have been dreaming about changing our bedroom/bathroom since the day we moved in so I can’t wait to get started!!!
So I’ll be back soon and in the meantime if you have any puppy tips, I’d love to hear them! I’m sure I’ll come back in a few weeks with some great tips to organize your life when you’re ripping your hair out because you got a new puppy ( 🙂 ), sounds like a promising series, right?

So cute! I love the squishy face!! <3 My best friend raised two Viszlas. They are velcro dogs! Lots of cuddles, lots of energy! One tip: for days that your husband may not have time to go running with her, get her bully sticks! You can get them at Costco, and she can chew to her heart's content. It's a great way for her to get her energy out.

That’s a great tip, thank you Bree! 🙂
