Now that the weather is getting warm and our deck expansion has been completed, we are living outside more and more. Today I want to show you my super simple, and affordable, solution for how to organize pool toys, goggles, sunscreen, etc.
I bought this 3-drawer wide cart (mine is no longer a cart because I took the wheels off) a couple years ago when we moved in, and it’s been a great solution to outdoor toy clutter.
I made the labels with my Silhouette and it’s a great way for the kids to know where to get things and put them back.
I leave the clean towels on top of the drawers so that everyone always knows where to find a clean towel. I also put a hamper out for the dirty towels, once it’s full I can take it upstairs, wash the towels and bring them back down.
As for all the big floating toys, like the tubes and rafts, we just leave those in the pool because they are always played with and it’s too much to take them out all the time. How do you organize your pool toys? What’s the best method you’ve found for your backyard? I’d love to hear your tips and I know my other readers would too!
Happy summer!!!

I had a dirty clothes hamper brand new that I would stand up the pool noodles

That’s a great idea!

I need to pick one of these plastic drawer organizers up for this year!
Do you keep your towels outside all the time? What do you do when it rains?
We use bungee cords to hang our floats from our deck railing. We just loop it through a hole in the donut or float, and it dries out without clogging up the skimmer all day. 😀 I also keep a plastic woven wicker basket at the back door for all the pool shoes and flip flops that come in from the pool all wet and dirty. It keeps the piles of flipflops at bay and looking nice. 😀

Do you have any issues w the goggles dry rotting. When we left them out in our pool toy basket (laundry basket) they would fade and dry rot in a matter of a few weeks… I wondered if the drawers helped not make this happen.

Keeping them out of the sun definitely helps! We usually only get a couple summers out of goggles though. 🙂

I bought this same tote for our outside pool stuff. Does it seem to keep things dry putside in the tain? Looking for something i can leave out
Anna says
No, it definitely didn’t stay dry in the rain. I ended up getting a different stack of drawers and it leaks too. I think it’s just one of those products that needs to be brought in at the end of summer. I ended up buying a large plastic chest and we bring it in for winter, but it is water proof and doesn’t leak in the rain.
