Front doors tend to look bare and sad after all the Christmas decorations come down, don’t you think? So, this year, I came up with the idea of creating a Frozen inspired wreath that can be left up all winter! I made my Frozen monogram wreath for my friend, Kim, because like Anna was there for Elsa, Kim has been there for me. (We even had our own “Frozen” inspired adventure last winter when I slipped on ice and broke my wrist, and she took a very scary ambulance ride with me to the hospital on icy roads!)
Supplies
- Styrofoam wreath form
- Ribbon (I used just over a roll of 1.5″ x 3 yard ribbon in a blue and white houndstooth pattern, and a just a little bit of ribbon in a silver and white polka dot pattern)
- Snowflakes (from the dollar store)
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Scissors
- Monogram letter of your choice (a used a white wooden “H” for my friend’s last name)
Start by inserting a glue stick in your glue gun and heating up the glue gun. Once the glue is hot, you can start gluing. Begin by securing your ribbon to the back of your wreath form with a drop of hot glue. Tightly wrap the ribbon halfway around the wreath form and secure the ribbon to the front of the wreath form with a drop of glue. Each time you wrap the ribbon around your wreath to the front, secure the back of your ribbon to the front of the wreath form with a drop of hot glue. (This will ensure that your ribbon stays tightly wrapped around the wreath.)
After you have glued the ribbon all the way around the circumference of the wreath, glue on your monogram letter with a healthy amount of glue. Glue your snowflakes to your wreath with hot glue. Loop a length of ribbon (I used a length of ribbon of about 16 inches) around the top of your wreath and hot glue the loose ends of the ribbon together. Once the glue has dried, use the loop of ribbon that you have just secured to your wreath to hang your new Frozen monogram wreath!
