In keeping with tradition, every year I make a thankful tree. Two years ago I used real branches and last year I made a huge vinyl tree for the back of our front door. This year I thought I’d do something a little different so I made a thankful banner to hang in our main living area.
I started by purchasing fake leaves at Michaels and then peeling the plastic spines off the back. After dinner the other night we went around and each of us named off things we were thankful for and I wrote them on the leaves. It was the perfect day to do it because both girls were having bad days but after all the leaves had been written on, everyone was laughing and filled with joy. It amazes me how taking time to be thankful will really improve everyone’s mood.
We have so much to be thankful for this year, and making the thankful banner really made us realize that.
This is my favorite one from Gabriella, “Gabriella is thankful for the growth she’s experienced in the last year.” I am also thankful for this, she has come so far.
I think this is my favorite one, period. “Malea is thankful for Jesus, Heaven and herself.” I love the thankful heart of my little 4 year old. I am also thankful for her.
What are you thankful for this November?
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1
