One of my good friends had a birthday recently and I asked her if she’d like me to make her a cake. I think she started drooling when I asked her, and of course she said yes! She loves chocolate so I told her to check out my Chocolate Love board on Pinterest, and to pick out a recipe. There were a couple she liked but she landed on this incredible chocolate salted caramel cake from Martha Stewart.
I’m glad she did because this is a cake I’d never made before and it was TO. DIE. FOR. I made the cake, the caramel and the frosting all from scratch, and each one was really good on it’s own, but when you put them all together… there are no words for how delicious it was.
Just putting the cake together I was drooling, look at all that delicious salted caramel!
It’s scrumptious looking from the outside but knowing all that salted caramel was inside, I couldn’t wait to cut into it.
Mmmmm!
The cake was a big hit and my friend loved it. If you want to make this delicious cake for your friends and family, you can find the recipe HERE.
There was plenty of caramel left over after making the cake so my daughter cut the cake recipe in thirds and made cupcakes. When the cupcakes were finished she cut the middle out and poured the salted caramel in the hole. After that she frosted them with the left over frosting. The cupcakes were just as delicious and a much easier alternative.
Enjoy! For more delicious chocolate recipes check out my Pinterest board HERE.
