I have so many favorite cleaning products, and I’ve told you many of them, but I’ve never taken the time to tell you what I use to wipe them up! I have so many favorite cleaning cloths, microfiber cloths, sponges, etc. that I thought it was time I shared.
Scotch-Brite Sponges
These sponges are a long-time favorite of mine. I am super picky about sponges and I’ve used a lot of bad ones in my day. But the Scotch-Brite green and yellow sponges never let me down! (They have other ones too but these are my favorite!)
I use these sponges for cleaning the bathroom sinks, showers and toilets and I also use them to clean my kitchen sink. They have awesome scrubbing power and I never have a hard time getting up gunk and grime.
Zap Cloth
Finding new, awesome products, is one of the things I love about my job, and the Zap Cloth is no exception! I use the Zap Cloth for cleaning all my windows, mirrors and the exterior of my appliances. I’m constantly cleaning fingerprints off my white appliances.
It really is the easiest way to get streak-free surfaces without having to use any cleaning products and it has helped me to cut down on the amount of paper towels I use since I can clean all the windows and mirrors with just this one cloth! All you have to do is get it wet, wring it out, wipe down everything, then toss it in the washing machine with the laundry! I love them so much I bought them for all the girls in my family for Christmas!
Bounty DuraTowel
This was another product I got to review and I quickly fell in love with it! After using these paper towels the other ones I had bought, just didn’t compare! I use my Bounty DuraTowels for everything in the kitchen– wiping my daughter after meals, wiping my countertops, cleaning out the fridge, wiping spots off my sink faucet, wiping up the floor and more!. The best part is that you can wet them and wring them out multiple times, just like a wash cloth, but without the lingering bacteria.
Grip-n-Flip
This is another product I discovered through blogging and it’s awesome, especially if you hate dusting (which I do)! With the Grip-n-Flip you just slip it on your hand and then walk around dusting things in your house! When one side gets dirty, you flip it over and keep going. When that side gets dirty then you flip over another layer, and keep on dusting!
You can dust your whole house, with this one mitten, which is the thing I love the most about it. If I’m ever in the mood to dust it only lasts for a few minutes, so I need to be able to dust the whole house right then and there, otherwise I’ll start but not finish the project.
White Wash Cloths
And last but not least, an oldie but a goodie– plain ol’ wash cloths. I always have a stack of white wash cloths in my laundry room and kitchen for any big spills, kitty messes, etc. Since discovering the Bounty DuraTowels, I have substantially cut down on the amount of wash cloths I go through in a week, but I like to always have them on hand, just in case. You just never know when you’re going to need a good old fashioned wash cloth!
Now that I’ve told you all of my favorite, what are yours? I would love to hear about the products you love too. Have you ever tried any of my favorites?

Thanks for sharing.

If you haven’t tried Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, you have missed out on a great cleaning tool. Check our their website for all the cleaning tips. Really great.

I use them once in awhile but not often enough to include them on this list. I will have to check out their website though, I’ve never been over there. Thank you!

Great info! Got to order a ZAP cloth! You included one of my all-time favs–the Scotch Brites and I am also a stockpiler of white washcloths. Wallyworld had them at 18 for $4 recently and I stocked up. They are also great for cleaning off make-up since you can immediately see on the white cloth whether you got it all or not. Are the new Bounty towels even better than VIVA?? I have been buying only VIVA for years.
Thanks for one of the best blogs on the net!

I use a white wash cloth to wash my face too! Great minds think alike. 🙂 Yes, the Bounty Duratowels are amazing! They are seriously far superior to any other paper towel. Once I discovered them I couldn’t wait to get rid of my other ones and now that’s all I buy! You will love them, I promise!

I just discovered Norwex Cleaning Products and they are AMAZING! Cloths that clean just with water but are antibacterial! I’m having a party at my house in a few months so I can get some free stuff. They have dust mits and face cloths in addition to their other cleaning line. I’m allergic to a lot of cleaning products including vinegar and amonia so cleaning with just water is so perfect for me and kid friendly too! Have you checked them out yet? I think you would love them too!

I am a huge Norwex fan too. The cloths have replaced nearly every other cleaner in my house and really simplified my cleaning routine.

I hardly ever use paper towels. I would get a big 12pk of bounty and it’d take us forever to go through. So now I just go to target whenever I need a roll for something. I only really used them for cleaning glass surfaces but find that newspaper works just as well. I do plan to pick up some UNpaper towels I use old cut up boxers and tees as cleaning cloths and old holey socks for dust rags. I’ll take the sock and put it on my hand and dust or i’ll take the rags and wrap them on my broom and use it to get cobwebs off the wall. I hate microfiber but my significant other likes them for the tv but since he never cleans the TV, I use them as drawer liners for our glass pans. I hate sponges too but I do buy the scratch free scouring pads from Scotch and cut them in half so they last longer. I guess I’m a reuse it/minimalist when it comes to cleaning.

My favorite clothes are from Norwex – the best microfiber cloths I’ve ever used!

I have a stack of worn out washcloths for pickup, and use microfiber cloths for other kitchen spills, and glass cleaning. The microfiber ones are my go-to for most jobs.
I also like the green and yellow scrubbers for kitchen cleaning.

I’ve put your cleaning products on my shopping list. I do use the scotch brite sponges. I’ve never heard of a zap cloth, but I’ll be on the lookout for one! I like using cloth diapers for dusting and washing walls, etc. I bought a package of six over 20 years ago, and I’ll probably still be using the same ones in 20 more years.

You can’t buy the Zap Cloths in the stores yet but they are inexpensive to buy online. Here’s a link to where you can get one (or more): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007HOZPLQ/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B007HOZPLQ&linkCode=as2&tag=askan01-20

I love Scotch Brite Glass Cleaning Cloths. They are not your typical microfiber cloths that can trap and hold onto lint. I’ve never been able to get my mirrors cleaner, not even with newspaper! I just use method all purpose cleaner or vinegar water and wipe off with that cloth, though i wouldn’t be surprised if just water would work just as well with it!

I love my Zap Cloth. I think I use it more than any other cloth. I’ll buy more, too.

I love fleecy-lined cloths such as the inner part of old sweatpants for dusting. They pick up dust as well as a microfiber dustcloth (and cat hair too!).
Also, Trader Joe’s equivalent of Sham-Wow are good at sucking up liquid messes, and come in pretty colors like yellow, light blue and sage green. Just don’t throw them in the dryer because they shrink and lose some of their absorbency. They dry pretty fast on a drying rack or outside.

Anna,
I have dramatically changed the way I clean when I researched Norwex Microfiber. I can clean faster and easier with only water, no harsh chemicals! Not to mention less laundry and no more paper towels or stinky cotton cloths! I thought I would share in case anyone else is interested in radically reducing harmful chemicals in their home! http://denisetibbitts.norwex.biz
