It has been awhile since I did a makeover in our house. There is always a project happening around here but I haven’t done a whole room in quite some time. Since most of the other rooms in our house have already been made over, I figured our bedroom was due for a makeover. I sold our old dresser and headboard over a year ago so our bed has been sitting on the floor, there are 3 different colors of paint on the wall, and the room looks sad. We haven’t had a well decorated master bedroom since we left our first house, almost 4 years ago, so I want to make this bedroom romantic and beautiful!! Here’s a look at the design board I have created for this makeover.
It’s a very simple design but I think when it’s done the rich textures and romantic lighting will be perfect! Every makeover is a process but I’ve already started purchasing items and here’s what I have so far.
Threshold Pinched Pleat Duvet from Target
Teardrop Crystal Chandelier from Overstock.com
I also have a headboard from TJ Maxx and the wall color, from Dutch Boy Paint. I am having an electrician come out next week to install the chandeliers and I can’t wait! Having a chandelier on each side of the bed will provide great reading light, as well as the perfect “mood lighting”. {wink} We have a lot of painting to do, and we still need to install the wood paneling “feature wall” but hopefully I will be back soon with an update!
Have you done a makeover in your house recently? I would love to hear about it, or see your posts!

I just did a blog post this week highlighting all the transformations that we did in the fall and our plans for the coming year. We are making our way through our house and updating every room after living here almost 14 years. So far we’ve totally made over our kitchen, powder room and youngest son’s bedroom. We’ve reorganized another 3 rooms. There is much more on the horizon this year!!

That is going to be fabulous! I especially love the wood accent wall!

I love the bedding & it is such a creative idea to have two chandeliers in the room instead of one!

Thank you Renee! Yeah, I just couldn’t get rid of the fan so I decided to use the chandeliers as bed-side lights instead. 🙂

I too am in the middle of a master bedroom refresher. I am trying to see what I can re-purpose since we are also redecorating the dining room and kitchen. Can’t wait to see your finished project.

Love the bedding with the pinched design and the mirror. I might try this out in Tiffany or Navy Blue, with our white washed walls.

Anna, I love the color paint for the bedroom walls! You mentioned that it’s made by Dutch Boy, but do you have the name of the color? I have dark cherry (traditional looking) bedroom furniture (very tall king size 4 poster bed, nightstands & dressers), and I have a sort of modern paisley design dark grey & white comforter & pillow shams. I’ve been wanting to use a very pale aqua or pale aqua-green on the walls & this color looks like it would be the perfect shade.

Hey Robin,
This is Monique, Anna’s Assistant. The name of the Dutch Boys paint is called Superhide White. Hope you find the perfect color!
