My front porch makes me crazy. It’s not cute, it’s really boring, I have the same “Welcome” mat from the previous owners and it has become this blah space that drives me nuts!!! It’s that spot on the house that I try to look down and get past it as quickly as possible. So… I need a change.
After looking at so many cute front porch pictures on Pinterest I decided to get my booty in gear and makeover my front porch! Here’s the inspiration board I put together.
I want our front porch to be inviting; I want people to see it and think, “Wow that’s cute, I wonder what the rest of the house looks like!” I want it to welcome my guest and beckon them to come in, instead of run the other direction! So this is my current project. I’ve cleared the space, scoured the Goodwill store, painted the trim and this weekend I’m heading to OSH for flowers and Lowe’s for some crown molding! I’ve already finished a couple of my projects and I can’t wait to share them with you!!!
What do you think? Do you like the inspiration board, would it make you want to come in my house and want to see more? 🙂 Is your front porch adorable or drab? Oh and do any of you know where I can find a steal of a deal on outdoor lighting?

I love your inspiration board. My front porch is completely boring! I would love to get a bench for out front. We get some really great sunsets where I live and we have an amazing view!

I know how you feel. We rent and our front porch has been so blah for the last two years. I finally had enough and planted up some pots for next to the front door a couple of months ago. Even that small pop of colour near the door made such a difference! Next I am going to paint the front door orange (I love my landlady – she lets me do so much!), replace the mat and I am halfway through making a little black Shaker style bench. Can’t wait to get it all done for Fall!

Love the mood board! I recently felt the same way as you! I have a large covered front porch, and it was filled with kids toys, muddy shoes and beach towels that were hung over the railing…. so sad 🙁 So, I cleaned it all up and did some “shopping” around my house and put together a little area that livened it up a little bit- I look forward to seeing how yours turns out- I’d like to do more with mine!
I love “shopping” around my house, that’s the best way to do a makeover!
