I came across the idea for these vases on Pinterest a few weeks ago {here’s the original post}. I was thinking they would make great Teacher Appreciation gifts but I ran out of time so I decided to make them for Mother’s Day gifts instead.Supplies:
Mason Jars
Spray{I used the color Robin’s Egg}
Craft Paint
Burlap
Twine {or ribbon}
A stencil {purchased or made by you}
Paint for the stencil
Foam brush
Glue gun

The first thing I did was spray paint the Mason Jars. While they were drying I cut my own stencil, using my Silhouette. I decided on hearts because the vases were for Mother’s Day but the stencil could be anything you want!
Next I cut the burlap so that it would fit around the jar and I placed the stencil on top of it.
Using craft paint and a foam brush I painted the stencil onto the burlap.
Voila! I love the gold hearts. 🙂
Then using my glue gun I glued the burlap to the Mason jars.
After the glue had dried I wrapped twine around the jar and tied it into a bow.
Then Malea and I took a walk over to the neighbor’s house and picked some pretty flowers for our vases.
I gave these to my Step-mom and Mother-in-Law for Mother’s Day but these would make a great gift for any occasion. I’ve actually been thinking about making some for myself!

Hi, I was wondering if you had added any clear coating to the jar after you painted it?? I just don’t want the paint to chip off somehow. Thanks!

I didn’t but it would be easy to do. 🙂
