Before starting this task, now is a good time to defrost your freezer. Once it’s defrosted wipe it out and then let’s organize it!
I love to use baskets {mine are from the Dollar Tree} in the freezer to keep similar items together, and to save space. For example all of the frozen fruits are stored in one basket, while the frozen veggies are stored in another basket. I also use them to store items for my daughter, like her chicken nuggets. Here’s a look at my freezer before organizing it and after.
Now that I have the baskets I am able to store so much more in my freezer! There are times when I even have extra space, and I know that’s rare! 🙂
Now let’s tackle the refrigerator. Take everything out of your refrigerator, wipe down all the shelves. I think you’ll be surprised at what you find in all the nooks and crannies of your fridge!
When it’s time to put the food back in, use the same techniques as we did in the freezer. Store similar items together and use baskets to organize the shelves.
While you are at the refrigerator don’t forget to dust the coils under the fridge. Vacuum them first, to capture the majority of the dust, and then wipe them down with a damp cloth. Cleaning the coils every few months will keep the refrigerator running more efficiently and give it a great longevity.
You will be amazed at how much more you’ll enjoy putting away the groceries now that the fridge and freezer are clean, organized and everything has a place!

Those were from the Target dollar bins. They have them once in awhile, but not all the time. :/
