Today my sweet little girl is turning 3!!!
I can’t believe it’s already been three years.
I wish I could freeze her at this age because she is so fun; lots of dressing up, lots of acting out scenes from movies and her mind is amazing, absorbing every piece of information she come across. She is also so loving, telling me she loves me all the time.
She is also hilarious. Her personality is definitley showing through, and I love it!
This is her in my “bride dress”. 🙂 |
In honor of celebrating Malea’s birthday today I want to share one of the projects I did for her upcoming birthday party.
I found this great tutorial on Pinterest and was excited to make them for Malea’s princess party. I had no idea that making 12 crowns would take forever but once I was finished with them it was so worth it.
I will let you refer to the tutorial for detailed directions {it’s very good} but I’ll give you a brief rundown of what I did. I started by cutting out 2 paper templates and then I used those to cut out 24 fabric crowns {front and back}.
Next I ironed on the interfacing. Once they had cooled off I pinned on lots of fun embellishments.
After pinning all the embellishments on I pulled out my sewing machine and sewed them on.The next step was what took the longest. Sewing the front and back pieces together seemed like no big deal until I realized that I had sewed on huge embellishments! It took a lot of time but I think they turned out pretty fabulous! And the best part is that Malea loves them!!! I had to hide them with her other birthday party stuff because she kept wanting to wear them all. :)This is the one I made for her.
I can’t decide which one is my favorite but I think it might be this one. I love the colors of it!
I can’t wait for her party!!! The little princesses are going to love these crowns!!!
