Do you have anything with a tough stain that you just can’t seem to get off? I love my oil and vinegar bottle set but they are the biggest pain in the butt to get clean because of the narrow mouth.
I don’t know why I didn’t think of it years ago, since I use them for so many other things, but the best way to clean these tough stains are…
Denture cleaner tablets!
I know that seems silly but trust me these babies are awesome for cleaning random stuff.
Drop the tablet in and fill the bottle with warm/hot water.
I love watching it turn colors and work the stains off.
After a few minutes the water will turn clear, that’s how you know the tablet is done working.
Dump the water out.
You can see there’s still a little vinegar left on the bottle but after you’ve dumped the water out fill it back up with warm water. Cap the mouth of the bottle with your finger and shake vigorously for about 10 second. The stain will come off easily because it had been loosened by the denture tablet.
If it’s a really tough stain you might have to repeat the process one more time, but as you can see mine came right off after just one tablet and one extra shake with some water.
Perfectly clean! I actually think the hardest part is getting these bottles dry because they are too small to fit a towel into. Any one have a tip for that? 🙂

Love the idea to use denture cleaning tablets! Brilliant. Much easier than scrubbing with a bottle brush too – and sometimes those don't fit down the neck of the bottle.I dry bottles by rolling up a piece of paper towel- so that it looks like a drinking straw- and slipping it inside. Let it sit overnight, and somehow the water is absorbed by the paper towel!Best,Emily from Nap Time Is My Time

What a great idea! I wonder if it will work with a tea stained glass pitcher? I've tried vinegar which removes some of the stains. Denture tablets will be on my next grocery list.

put rice in them to dry 😀 Also, I would clean the last bit of stain of by shaking rice and hot water in the bottle. The friction does the trick!

what can I use to keep large shower doors clean, they are for a walk in shower and keep so much scum on them I have to clean them everytime we take a shower, help and thanks.

To the previous post: I always use a squeegee. In our last house we had an all glass shower and using a squeegee after each use was the only thing that kept it soap scum-free in between cleanings. Hope that helps!Annawww.askannamoseley.com
