Organizing Under the Bathroom Sink

This post is my Day 14 of the Organizing Challenge at A Bowl Full of Lemons. Before Under your bathroom sink… probably not an area that gets a lot of attention, but probably an area that needs some!  I know mine definitely needed some love.  Actually this mess has been driving me nuts for some time so I was thankful when I saw today’s challenge!  This afternoon Malea and I treked to Big Lots and bought some great baskets to match the green ones that I already had, matching is important to me because I think it makes a space… Read More

How to Fold Fitted Sheets

Question:  “I am extremely organized in terms of folding sheets and towels, but for the life of me I CANNOT fold a fitted sheet. It ends up balled between my flat sheet and my pillow cases. Drives me crazy. How do you fold a fitted sheet?”     Answer:  Ahhh, the infamous fitted sheet.  I know it seems like it should be so simple but it took me years before I really figured out how to fold fitted sheets!  This post has a lot of pictures but it’s step by step directions in how to fold fitted sheets so that… Read More

Teaching Kids to be Organized (Start when they’re young!)

It is important to teach our children organization from the time they are very young because if we don’t teach them who will? From the time Malea leaned to walk (10 1/2 months) we started doing clean up time with her. I looked up a cute little clean up song on youtube.com and tried to make it fun for her. Now that she’s 2, sometimes I will hear her singing the song to herself, in the other room, while she’s picking up her toys. Kids need order, they thrive on it, and if their toys are organized and easily accessible… Read More

How to get Wine out of Carpet

Every year Matt and I throw a wine tasting party. It’s a great party where we enjoy amazing wine pared with even more amazing food followed by a few rounds of The Newly Wed Game. It’s great fun and we have yet to have any spilled wine… until this year. This year our friend Brian got a little into the game and he accidentally spilled some red wine on my brand new white carpet! I think silence fell over the room when he did it and I’m pretty sure Brian had a mental image of me leaping across the room… Read More

Recipe of the Week

Meal planning is important, it saves time and money (this will be a future blog).  For years people have asked me for quick and easy recipes that are also yummy. 🙂  After some thought I’ve decided that “Ask Anna…” needs a Recipe of the Week section so that you can start adding new recipes to your menu that will be quick and easy allowing you to spend more time with your family.  Here’s my first recipe: Foil-Pack Taco Chicken (kraftfoods.com) Ingredients: 4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.) 4 tsp.  TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Taco Seasoning Mix 1/2… Read More
