Sea Salt Chocolate Cookies

Soft fudgy chocolate cookies with chewy edges topped with flaky sea salts. These sea salt chocolate cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day, especially chocolate lovers.
Ingredients
  • 4 oz semi sweet chocolate
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Flaky sea salt
Instructions
  1. In a microwave safe bowl, melt semi sweet chocolate according to the directions on the packaging with butter. Stir the chocolate until smooth.
  2. Transfer the melted chocolate into a large mixing bowl. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar to the bowl. Mix until combined. Add egg and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Pour the dry ingredients into the well ingredients. Mix with a spatula until the dough comes together.
  5. Refrigerate the cookie dough for about a half hour so that the cookie doesn’t spread too much.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Use a cookie scooper to scoop cookie dough onto the baking sheet. About 9 cookie dough ball per cookie sheet.
  9. Bake the cookie for about 8-10 minutes. Repeat with the rest of the cookie dough.
  10. Sprinkle sea salt on top of the cookies while it is still hot.
  11. Serve the sea salt chocolate cookies warm.
