Sea Salt Chocolate Cookies |

Soft fudgy chocolate cookies with chewy edges topped with flaky sea salts. These sea salt chocolate cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day, especially chocolate lovers.
- 4 oz semi sweet chocolate
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Flaky sea salt
- In a microwave safe bowl, melt semi sweet chocolate according to the directions on the packaging with butter. Stir the chocolate until smooth.
- Transfer the melted chocolate into a large mixing bowl. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar to the bowl. Mix until combined. Add egg and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Pour the dry ingredients into the well ingredients. Mix with a spatula until the dough comes together.
- Refrigerate the cookie dough for about a half hour so that the cookie doesn’t spread too much.
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Use a cookie scooper to scoop cookie dough onto the baking sheet. About 9 cookie dough ball per cookie sheet.
- Bake the cookie for about 8-10 minutes. Repeat with the rest of the cookie dough.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top of the cookies while it is still hot.
- Serve the sea salt chocolate cookies warm.
