Garlicky Egg Toast with Herbs

Toast with garlicky za’atar spread topped with a runny egg and fresh herbs. This garlicky egg toast with herbs is delicious, simple to make, and so perfect for a summery breakfast.
Ingredients
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ cup plain full fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon za’atar
  • 2 slices of bread
  • Fried shallots
  • Fresh herbs, chopped
  • Chili pepper, sliced
Instructions
  1. In a small or medium pot, heat water until it comes to a boil. Add two large eggs to the water and cook for about 6-7 minutes before removing the eggs from the pot with a slotted spoon. Transfer the eggs to an ice bath and let it cool for at least several minutes before peeling. This makes it easier to peel.
  2. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together plain Greek yogurt, minced garlic, and za’atar seasoning until combined.
  3. Toast bread until browned. Spread the za’atar yogurt spread over the bread, then add an egg to each toast. Top with finely chopped fresh herbs, fried shallots, and chili peppers.
  4. Serve the garlicky egg toast with herbs immediately.
