Sweet and tart fresh cranberries baked with a brown sugar butter crust on top. These cranberry crisp bars are so delicious and perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup all purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries (or frozen)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup all purpose flour
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375F.
  2. Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper. It might just be easier to clean using parchment paper.
  3. In a medium sized mixing bowl, stir together brown sugar, butter, all purpose flour, chopped nuts, and ground cinnamon until the batter becomes crumbly. They’ll appear pea sized like. If they’re smaller or bigger in size, that’s perfectly fine too.
  4. In a small sized mixing bowl, toss together fresh cranberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and all purpose flour.
  5. Once the cranberry mixture is well combined, pour the mixture into the baking pan.
  6. Next, pour the brown sugar butter mixture on top of the cranberries into a relatively even layer.
  7. Bake the cranberry crisp for about 20-25 minutes until the top has turned a golden brown and the cranberries appear jam like.
  8. Allow the cranberry crisp to cool down completely before cutting them into bars.
  9. Serve the cranberry crisp bars warm or cold.
