So are you dying to see my kitchen reveal? I know I’m dying to show you!!! I am sore, tired, and completely behind on my work/blogging but it was all worth it because my kitchen looks amazing!!!
There is so much to show you so I decided to break this up into 3 posts. Today I will show you the before pictures and Phase 1 to the Makeover. The big reveal will be on Wednesday (after the Spring Cleaning Post for the day), including all the pictures of the entire process and then Friday I will give a complete review of the products we used and whether or not I would recommend using this method. How does that sound?
So here we go…
Our house was build in 1965 so the cabinets are super old and made out of “high quality”particle board. Aren’t they lovely? When we bought the house I knew right away that redoing the kitchen was a MUST!Since I knew we were going to be painting the cabinets a few weekends ago I got an itch to paint the walls too. I figured it would be easier to paint the walls first so that I wouldn’t have to be as careful when painting around the cabinets. Before pictures:
Edit: I found this first picture from the day we moved in. It shows the flooring before we had it changed–SUCH a difference from the dark wood flooring!

Here is the before picture of the laundry room. I haven’t painted the walls in here yet, because I haven’t had the time or energy, but we did redo the cabinets this weekend so I wanted you to see the before in here too.
Here’s what the inside of my cabinets look like: dark, dingy and yucky.
Here’s the color I picked up at Wal*Mart. It’s called Wood Smoke and it’s a color by Glidden. I LOVE it!!! It’s hard to tell from the picture but it’s more of a gray color.
Malea helping me test the color on the wall. It’s so much better then the boring beige/tan that was on the walls before!
She’s all ready to help mommy paint. 🙂
After of Phase One:
I LOVE IT! I think it makes the kitchen so much warmer and more inviting.
What do you think of the color?
Here’s the before and after side by side.
