Matcha Green Tea Chocolate Chip Bread

Moist bread filled with chocolate chips and a hint of matcha green tea. This matcha green tea chocolate chip bread is delicious and perfect for breakfast.
Ingredients
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2½ tablespoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • ⅔ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray or with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all purpose flour, matcha powder, and baking soda until well incorporated.
  3. In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk together egg, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined. Pour in buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, then mix until incorporated.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and mix with a spatula until well combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the loaf pan. Add extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  7. Bake the bread for about 40-45 minutes. Test the bread for its readiness by inserting a clean toothpick through the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, the bread is done.
  8. Allow the matcha green tea chocolate chip to cool down for several minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve the matcha green tea chocolate chip warm or cold.
