I don’t know about your kids but my daughter LOVES to take baths. If we let her she would probably stay in there all night. Awhile back I found some multicolored tub crayons that I thought she’d love, and I was right! She loved being able to express her artistic ability all over the shower/tub.
When I walked in and saw this I just started laughing. I was glad that she’d loved the crayons but I’d never expected she’d cover the entire surface with them! 🙂 It’s moments like these that make me glad I have this blog and I have another challenge to figure out.
Bath crayons are even more sticky and greasy than regular crayons so I knew I couldn’t use a regular sponge and bath cleaner, so how do you get bath crayons off the tub?
I thought I’d give it a try and to my excitement, it worked! First you have to get the eraser pad really wet, if it’s not all the way wet the pad will drag from the stickiness of the crayon so it needs to be soaked.
Then start scrubbing away.
There are different brand of bath crayons but with the one I bought the orange doesn’t come off as easily as the other colors. The waxy part comes off but it leaves a pink residue on the tub.
To clean the pink residue off the tub I had to bring out the big guns, all purpose cleaner with bleach and my Scotch Brite scrubbing sponge.
Spray the pink with the all purpose cleaner and then scrub it really well with the Scotch Brite.
It comes off pretty easily but it does take a little scrubbing action. 🙂 Once it’s gone, rinse the tub and voila, it’s as clean as new!
Now we can let our kids enjoy the bath crayons as much as they want to because we know it’s easy to get off!
