Bissell Steam Cleaner {Product Review}

A few weeks ago Bissell sent me their Lift-Off steam cleaner.  I will admit I have never used a steam cleaner at home {I’ve always just paid to have them cleaned} so I was a little skeptical about whether or not the Lift-Off would hold up to my high standards.

This review came at the perfect timing because I had been saving up the dirt to get my carpets cleaned.
Here’s what I started out with…

heavy traffic greasy stains in front of the couch…

cat hairball stain from that morning…

…overall tired and icky carpet, that was in desperate need of a thorough cleaning!

I was pleasantly surprised at how simple the directions were and how easy it was to get started.

After filling the tank with water and soap I got cleaning.  I was kind of hoping that I’d see a drastic difference in the carpet like you see in all the cheesy commercials…

…but I had no such luck.  I was also kind of relieved to not see the drastic line because that means my carpets are fairly clean.

Here’s what the tank looked like when I emptied it the first time.  Ewww!

I was very impressed with how well the bristles on the Lift-Off really got down into the carpet to pull up the dirt.

For someone like me, who loves clean & freshly vacuumed carpets, it was exhilarating to see how clean the carpets looked after I had run over them with the steam cleaner!

Look at how beautiful my living room looked when I was done!

Be still my heart, look at those beautiful vacuum lines!

I had a little water left in the steam cleaner after I finished the living room so I decided to clean the rug in Malea’s room.  It’s the one carpet in the house that’s pretty gross.  I vacuum it regularly but I’ve never had it cleaned before.  Just look at how impressive the difference is between the before and after pictures!

Before: dingy white color, with lots of old stains.

After: finally back to the original white color!

After cleaning the living room, and Malea’s rug, I could actually see and feel the difference in the carpets!  The only problem was that I didn’t have time to do the rest of the house so I could still feel how gross the other carpets were!

I am also love the best feature of the Lift-Off {the thing that gave it it’s name}.

The main body of the steam cleaner comes off for super easy spot cleaning on carpets, couches, the car, etc., the options are endless!

Here are my overall thoughts about the Bissell Lift-Off:

Pros
It gives a very professional clean at a very affordable price.
It is easy to use and comes with great instructions.
It comes with great attachments for easy spot cleaning.
It has bristles on the sides for maximum cleaning coverage.
It is easy to push and even though it’s big I found it was pretty easy to maneuver.
I could actually see, and feel, a difference in how clean my carpets were.
The Lift-Off did a great job at sucking up the water out of the carpets.  I was impressed that they were dry after only a couple hours, just like when the professionals clean them!

Cons
It’s loud.  I will probably wear earplugs when I use it in the future because my ears were ringing after cleaning my living room.
