Saving Special Occasion Corks

My husband and I love to celebrate special occasions with a bottle of champagne. Years ago I started collecting the corks and displaying them. I get more comments on my corks shadow boxes than any other thing in my home. People LOVE these.
Recently I decided that the black was too boring and I needed a change. I headed over to JoAnn’s Fabric and found some super cute scrapbooking paper that I thought would spice up my cork boxes a little. :) Then I went to Micheal’s and found these awesome labels, way cuter then what I had before.
First I took out all the corks, making sure to keep them with their proper labels.
Then I laid them all out to figure out how I wanted it to look.
I decided to hot glue the corks on this time so taking off all the velcro tabs was kind of a pain!
Then I got out all of my new corks that I’ve been saving. I usually just tape a sticky note to it with the date and event written on it because otherwise there’s no way I could remember what all of these corks were for!
After glued all the corks on I wrote on all the labels and put my shadow boxes back together. With the new layout I even have room for some more corks now!
I think this is my favorite one, I love the polka dots. :)
In a few months we’ll be celebrating my 30th birthday so it will go right next to the cork for celebrating my husband’s 30th!
